Granted I have only been a Captain for a very short time, but the only time I can see when we would not be in the way of the pax boarding or FAs and Gate Agents finishing their final duties is after the door is closed and the FAs are doing their final cabin check. On the 200 it's one FA and usually takes at least 30 seconds to a minute. Is it shorter on the 900 with two FAs?

On another subject, it appears that we lost the Radisson Riverfront in Cincinnati due to "numerous complaints". Yes it's a longer van ride but so is any place that is downtown instead of out by the airport. It was near Main Strasse and other things not named Rally or Subway. Anybody speculate what people didn't like about it?

I don't disagree. We've gone through a bunch of hotels in Covington over the years...Country Inn, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Double Tree. Wait long enough and we'll be back there, only so many places that will put up with us. About the only thing I think they had in common was crappy van service. The best was the Country Inn and Suites post Comair... 30-40 crewmembers all trying to catch one 10 pax Ford van at the same time. Think they lasted a couple weeks.
