Chill out, dude. Did you take his preference of the 200 personally? You are correct, in most situations the 900 has a better schedule. In other situations, do to base choice or some other preference, the 200 can be better. I do better on the 200 currently than I would on the 900. So I choose the 200. I realize a seat lock puts added pressure on the decision.
The 200 is shrinking. The 900 is growing. And some senior fo insulated from the real world is spouting off advise for new hires today which pertains to new hires from early 2016.

I don't know, would you feel good about someone making decisions based off that guys myopic view of the world after clearly doing his best to stay completely uninformed? The only reason the 200 guys like me got off reserve so quick was because of the growth on the 200. You say chill out? Okay. Everyone on here think about what new guys here experience will be like on the 200 will be instead of passing off your own experience from more than a year ago as relevant to today.

You get paid to fly 75 hours, longer flights per work day gets you closer to that number. The less days you can use getting to or close to that number the more days off you'll get it. Not a hard concept. As was stated before if you're a senior lifer maybe you do better on the 200 but the rest of us wont.
And no, the 900 can't top a 55,000ft storm. However, while the 200 is stuck at FL270 trying to accelerate to cruise speed with the throttles at CLB long after you've leveled off in a stratus layer in which that tstorm is embedded, the 900 is comfortably flying along at .80 at FL360 in VMC well above that stratus layer where we can easily just see the big puffy cloud ahead of us and go around it. And if you've burned off enough fuel or don't have many pax you could go to FL380 and easily top those pesky ones that only top out FL350. It's fun topping a short one FL380 with the lightning below you at night, should try it sometime if you have a very light 200

Everytime the words “sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight” cross my lips during the “welcome aboard” announcement, my soul dies a little bit. Has anybody here managed to break the shackles of this terrible cliche?
The only thing worse than that is saying "we will be taking off runway 35 Right on the Mormon 5 RNAV Sid, Jehova transition....with the Buddha 3 arrival into...."

I did deadhead on one of ours who seemed to be paid a retention bonus every time he said "Toronto Pearson International Airport". We were also informed what our approach speed and stopping distance was in descent.

Correct they are not shrinking the aircraft lines in DTW actually adding a few, I think it was 7 up to 9 aircraft lines by this summer is what I was told by JF. Now pilot numbers do not see any increase unfortunately.
