Do you guys think the company is able to see whenever I log into the CATE app?
I see the notification but don't want to accept or deny the "ready reserve" as I prefer the escalation the next day. In the end I think scheduling should be doing their job and notifying me properly.
Any thoughts?

Well whether or not you’ve seen it doesn’t mean you’ve legally accepted it. Let them escalate you even if you’ve seen it.

If it was for your first day then it has to be an escalation. I'm in the middle of a reserve stretch and was given a ready rsv that's not my usual reserve time

If you don't acknowledge it within CATE, does it matter? No.
CATE is a tool to help the company save crew scheduler resources and to help crews be more timely notified in the event of scheduling modifications.
It is NOT for the company to circumvent contactable periods for their own convenience.
If it is to your advantage to accept the notification, then accept it. I've accepted notifications outside of my contactable periods when it helped me.
For example, if I'm delayed in the morning, scheduling COULD wait until my report time in the AM to tell me, "hey, you're delayed 3 hours" or... I could see the CATE notification the night before, accept it there and sleep in. I know which one I'm choosing.
In your case, they didn't make the ready reserve assignment in time to contact you, so one of two things will happen now; you'll be contacted tomorrow at the beginning of your contactable period for a same day escalation or they'll remove the ready reserve period. Probably win/win for you.
