Go read the SkyWest ALPA 2.0 thread if you want some education about how the ALPA MECs work.
If the retention bonus had expired, this airline would cease to exist due to all the pilots quitting. But that's water under the bridge now.

But yeah, actually, this.

I'm not positive how those agreements are finalized, i.e I don't know if the United CPP agreements are actually agreements between the airlines or the union but I'm guessing it's the managements not the union.

And since our management is controlled by Delta, I'm going to say they're not going to make an agreement to supply a competitor with pilots.

At the end of the day, regardless of what the union may think, it's company HR who makes the hiring decisions.

Delta's union (also ALPA) has already passed a resolution directing the union to attempt to get the company to hire more ALPA pilots, that's really the best they can do.

I’d love to see the look on Baby Bastian’s face when he finds out Endeavor is now a UA CPP regional.
Lmao. Talking about Ed, did you see him on CNBC today?

I’ve learned a lot about the question I had thanks to most of you. Thanks.

Wow! Just wow with the latest ALPA email regarding SSP and DGI. It would appear that our MEC is fighting hard for career progression for all pilots. That’s a welcoming sight. Flip the coin though, and I can see it as a Comair-type act of boldness. Me personally, I enjoy the light which is shone by the former.

Agreed. The fact that our parent company refuses to establish defined career progression for us is totally unacceptable.

I think you may misread that. All the MEC is doing is not letting the company to assign days off for the DGI using SSP language because not all pilots have the DGI so it subserverts seniority. They are negotiating a way to allow the DGI guys the days off in a manner that also gives benefits to nonDGI pilots. This has nothing to do with career progression or progression programs. I could be wrong, but im fairly confident that'd how I read that memo.

Yea...the memo said that it was meant to clarify...but it did no such thing. Just made me more confused

It's pretty simple. The company can't give days off out of seniority.
