Seriously, the union needs to deal with this. It’s a violation of seniority. It’s no longer the trip that I bid for and was awarded. I planned to see friends on overnights, etc. I don’t have much in the way of seniority, but it should count for something.

Violation of seniority, please... All you are bidding for is what time your trip starts and ends. Don't plan anything in between, and you won't be disappointed. Talk to some Delta guys, they have the same things going on over there.

What KS said. Unfortunately this is how it is. What do you want to give up from our contract to get language that prevents this? The Delta pilots are getting the same treatment, they get "deviated" from their schedules non-stop. It's highly unlikely we will get better protections against this than them. The truth is, once the trip starts, you're just at work. And they put you to work in the best way they see fit. You're right though, it sucks when you had plans on an overnight and it gets destroyed.

Scheduling has the option not to use the ready reserves, that's usually why they move line holders around, then have reserves from home cover the flying you got switched from. It's a timing thing to avoid delays, as performance is the metric Delta cares about.

Exactly
Ready rsv Pilots are used early morning before a p1 can get there also.

They have. It’s called leg by leg pay protection!

What if I wear my hat? Will they keep me on my trip then?

I know they can do whatever they want after I show up to work, but it is just so aggravating to have been awarded an awesome trip with overnights in places that I’m excited about, and they doing turns out of LGA when I’m MSP based...

Not going to find an argument here! It sucks! I lost a 20 hour in FLL (I think) a couple years ago during spring break, and replaced it with a 12 hour BUF overnight

Another thing to realize is, as soon as Flica allows it, reserves drop days until the grid is red. There is little chance of dropping something during the month.
