I suppose all these folks will be displaced out of Detroit in 2 years back to New York when flying picks up again.

OR it’s the first sign we boot Skywest out of Detroit and let Republic take over New York. Shower thought of the day that I know won’t come true.
We can hope! Then maybe we can work on getting some more western flying from MSP. One can dream right?

Ill take an unsat on situational awareness for not seeing that the first time. Thanks. Not good news looking at the numbers.

That long term LOA doesn't seem like a very good deal.

Worth noting there are 70 new captain openings too, so it's theoretically a net loss of zero captain positions

nothing is going to happen here for at least 6 months. Way too much training going on at delta right now in the aircraft they use for short flights to feed the hub. Until training at DL can get people into the 220 seats and 717 seats we will be ok. After that who knows.

Why are they not offering an early retirement before LTLOA? I bet quite a few in MSP and DTW would take a good enough deal.

Because ltloa is basically free for the company. Early retirement costs money. They're trying free first. I think they said on the town hall that early outs were going to be the last effort they try before furloughs. So be worried when the early outs come.

Though I'm still worried now. 2020 throwing crazy crap at us

If you don't like flying and have a lucrative side gig, then it's actually a really good deal. Keep your seniority number and continue to accrue longevity while not having to go to work! The continuing to accrue longevity is the key.

I can think of a few folks who could/would take advantage of such an offer.
