EWR is not an Endeavor base. Reserve in NYC means you cover LGA and JFK. If you hold a
line, then depending on the pairing, could have you starting in LGA or JFK.

Reserve could be either LGA or JFK. If they need you in EWR or HPN, then they'll send you in a limo from LGA or JFK, depending on where your trip ends.

Trips on lines can start from either airport, even during the same bid month. Trips will end at the same airport from which they start. If a trip ends with a limo from LGA to JFK or vice versa, you can swap that limo for a flight home instead.

Beware of things that identify as a "limo". Hint: It won't be an actual limousine. That why they now call them "ground deadheads"

Yes, NYC is as bad as everybody says. The AIP if passed (likely) will make the sting of paying for transportation less, but NYC still sucks unless you live there.

Complaining that the ground transportation isn’t actually in a limousine has to be one of the most “pilot” gripes out there.

I enjoyed my time in NYC, but I had a good crash pad. I always felt comfortable in the Suburbans or Sprinter vans that did the “limo” work. There are some sketchy cab companies out there to watch out for if you’re paying on your own dime. I sometimes took the subway in those cases. Never had an issue.

If your trip ends with a ground DH to the other co-terminal you can convert that “limo” into an alternate deadhead (positive space seat home).

The two times I took the company “limo” between airports it was an old Lincoln sedan that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke to the point I had to ask my FO if I smelled when I arrived at the airport

thanks for the info. Just to clarify, if you’re on reserve they could call you for either lga and/or jfk? You can’t just pick one? And is that a short call or long call reserve? Also ideally I’m guessing if you decide to move to nyc you would want to pick a place to stay that’s situated in between both airports? Thanks

Yeah, you're on reserve for both airports, whether short call or long call. You can't pick just one airport.

You'd be good timewise for reserve to either airport from anywhere in the city. LGA is easier from the Bronx, Manhattan, and northern Queens (Astoria, Elmhurst, Corona, and Flushing). JFK is easier from pretty much anywhere else in Queens, as well as from Brooklyn. Kew Gardens is centrally located between the two airports and a decent neighborhood to boot.

unless you want to move, I would certainly not move to nyc just because of that. I commuted to NY for years and it was worth it to live somewhere I liked that my money went further. I honestly didn’t mind being based in NY for ~4 years but I have no desire to ever live there.
