Four weeks of ground: one week indoc, one week general subjects, two weeks systems, exam after each module.

Sims: can't comment on the current process, I wasn't AQP, but it's half a dozen or so lessons working on procedures in the FTD, then into the actual sim for the rest of it. Ground and FTD in Minneapolis, sim is Minneapolis and some in Phoenix if you go 200.

From start of ground to completion of IOE flying should be between 2-3 months depending on how soon you start sim after ground. It's all paid at $75/HR. They'll positive space you home on breaks/weekends. You should also have access to the non rev benefits if you want to travel elsewhere.

There is enough natural ssp and eventual DGI/"other" movement that displacements won't be likely. Maybe bids such as these with openings only in certain spots, but not displacements. That's why we have TDY's. I would not be surprised to see openings in all spots for 16-04 in the fall. This was listed as a move to expand NYC, and that's exactly what was done. If someone freaks out over just 1 vacancy only bid (not a single person willfully pushed out of a position) and upgrades from 4-5 months since hire date, they haven't been here long at all and don't see the bigger picture. Sorry if that's blunt, but folks who have been here a while can all say "this is just fine news" compared to some bids a few years ago. I would expect street captains at the end of the year or early 2017 at this rate of movement.

Correcting a few discrepancies.

Ground is 100% correct.

Sims: 4 lessons in the Procedures trainers (basically FTD touch screen trainers). Lesson 5 is your procedures validation. Then you have 9 lessons in the sim. 5 are maneuvers training and 4 are LOE flights. Lesson 6 is your Maneuvers Validation and Lesson 11 is your IQLOE (aka check ride).

You are paid at the FO base rate of 75 hours a month at $30/hr. Not $75/hr. You are not paid Per Diem during ground training or sims unless you go to PHX for 200 sims.

$75/HR... That's what I get when I type something up while tired. If only!

Had no clue on sims, as I said, wasn't AQP so didn't know how it was changed.

Not yet, we're still in the testing phase. They're projecting getting them at the end of the year though.

Thinking on switching to the 900 ... I want to hold a line as soon as possible
PBS.. Reports tab on the top. -Category Line Reports. Pick your Base, Fleet & Seat from the menu...

We are currently testing the Microsoft Surface 3 (which sucks) and the iPad Air 2. We have about 3 months left in operational testing. I'm testing the surface and the feeling I keep getting from management is they want iPads as much as the pilots do. If everything goes according to the schedule we should see the first batch of pilots transition to EFB's in the Dec 15 - Feb 16 timeframe.
