At a quick glance, I couldn't see any impacts to the plugs. I didn't dig deeply, though.

Ok, I’m baffled. After the chart posted in the Facebook group, I had to go digging regarding the 200 in DTW during August as I couldn’t believe the low flight numbers. Unfortunately, he’s pretty close to right by my math

GRB, DAY, EVV, MBS and AZO is all SkyWest in August. DTW-LAN is 2 out of 3 daily on SkyWest. What happened to the even split between the 200 in DTW and ATL management was talking about? DTW 200 is roughly 13% of ATL 200 by number of flights. Why is SkyWest back so strongly with the 200?

SoarHigh757 07-28-2020 04:45 PM

Here’s what I see left out of DTW on the CRJ-200 for August.

DTW-ATW 31 flights

DTW-CWA 31 flights

DTW-BTV 31 flights

DTW-LEX 62 flights

DTW-LAN 31 flights

DTW-ORH 31 flights

Total: 217 flights

Perhaps they didn’t have a boatload of flight attendants on leave?

I can't imagine that flying 10 people from DTW to LAN is profitable. It's better to stick the subcontractors with the unprofitable routes and let them deal with the consequences.

If they are pro rate sure. If not, it makes no difference.

On the AA side rumor at YV is OO offered cash to AA in exchange for future flying via waived cancellation fees in the April draw down. AA approached YV who said no. OO took over most all YV flying out of PHX.

Can anyone comment what JSing on an EDV CR9 looks like right now? It’s 2-2 so are they blocking aisle seats? What kind of load on 76 seats would I stand a chance of getting on? And how are you guys on physically occupying the JS, are guys generally okay with it? This would be a ~40 minute air time flight.

Thank you!

Make sure the CA knows you are there - I’ve been having people sit on the “JS” in FC.

Can’t comment on how to read loads because I still don’t fully understand interpreting the new numbers system myself. Delta is running a 60% capacity cap which on a 2x2 RJ doesn’t translate perfectly to every aisle seat blocked, but in practice that’s not a bad way to view it.

+1 on making sure the CA knows you’re there. Had several jumpseaters this last trip and they all made it. I think most of our CAs wouldn’t have a problem with letting an offline jumpseater ride up front if the cabin was at capacity, but I can’t say that for certain.

we can take 45 passengers on a 900. Or I think that’s how we are doing it. 60% load?

loads are dropping of system wide anyways you’ll find yourself a seat in the back.

If someone needs a ride up front, personally im not gonna say no, I live the commute life too.

50% First Class and 60% the rest of the plane. I think the magic number is more like 42 total, though it's give and take by a few according to TravelNet.

AimHigh1 07-30-2020 06:07 PM

The firm number varies.. They'll take more revenue pax than non-revenue pax.

Maybe, hard to tell. OO has stated in their last two earnings calls that they waived various fees through the end of Q3 with their major partners. That part is true, but anything beyond that is speculation.

ShyGuy 08-04-2020 10:27 PM

Ended up with a seat in the back. Thank you to those who responded :)

Thoughts on us hiring flight attendants in the next six months. Asking for a friend. No really I am, soon to be wife actually. She’s at a mainline and got her notice. JustS wanted to keep flying and a paycheck.

JulesWinfield 08-14-2020 02:47 PM

Honestly, it probably depends on how many New York flight attendants can hang through the other side of this.

Sorry to offend. I didn't know the Macdonald's workers turned FAs is one of your softer spots. Now that I think about it I did enjoy being able to hear every word of their maximum volume speaker phone conversations from the galley when I was trying to program the FMS.

I DH’d the other day and heard every word of their hour-long yelling galley conversation at cruise... from economy... over my noise cancelling headphones AND music. Not kidding; I’m stunned a paying pax didn’t complain. Beats the unemployment line, though!

This is when as a responsible adult you ring your call button and discretely hand the FA a note to raise their awareness.

HAHA. Not if you like your job. Zero chance HR would take your side after the offended flight attendants launch a fusillade of complaints against you.

Seriously? You are saving them a problem.

I don’t disagree with that at all, but I’ve also seen FA’s get really defensive with CA’s who had problems with actual safety-related issues on the trip they’re supposed to be a team on. It does make one feel pretty risk-averse, which also says a lot.

That's the sad reality. It is hard enough to herd cats on a flight where you are the PIC. Trying it on a deadhead? Just smile and nod. If the paying customers want to do something about it; that would be great.

So I'm the bigot for calling someone else out on their seemingly racist sentiment? Not doing too well in the smarts department are you?

The exception with your statement is that your mind has projected this FA to be a racialized individual.

How about not rooting for anyone to lose their job right now, or not rooting for anyone's circumstances changing enough to the point that they have to quit?

I'm not rooting for anyone to lose their job. I didn't understand that to be your inference. But lets be honest, 10% of the NYC FAs are phenomenal 10% are adequate, and the other 80% are absolute garbage.

You seem triggered. Can I offer you an egg in this trying time? Please cite where race was ever brought into the thread. NYC FA now denotes a race? That's a new one. Can you please give me a source for that?

Not at all triggered. You do you boo. Keep on hoping for FAs that come from McDonalds to work at the airlines to not pull through to the other side. Keep that mclove coming. You and MSPbarbiejet show your true colors and it's quite despicable and I don't mind calling you out on it. Qualify all you want and play all the semantics you want. Or better yet just explain what you wrote and why? I'm not the only one here waiting for your explanation.
