I'm a new hire with a 3 April class start. Do you guys think that this announcement means that most 200 new hires will go to ATL and most, if not all 900 new hires will go to NYC? Just curious how this announcement will affect new hire flow in the near future as I'm hoping for DTW.
No one knows how how this is going to shake out. We don't know how fast they want people over there. There will be a group of people who bid straight into the base, and then there will be a much larger group who sit out this vacancy to how senior the base is, what sort of line they could hold. But until we see the actual vacancy we don't have any idea, and we won't know until the vacancy closes.

Something tells me this isn't the only news coming out of HDQ this month. My guess is within the next couple weeks there will be something else...maybe it's more two-class shells moving over, maybe it's a revised DGI that gives SSPers another shot...I don't have a crystal ball, but I feel there's more to our story right now.

My guess is if more news drops this month, it'll be more 2-class birds. I think the revised DGI will be later in the year, maybe Oct/Nov.

Vacancy is out.

Not a lot of NYC 200

30 LGA 900 captains, 40 ATL 200 captains.

70 new captains total.

With XJT and DAL in NY, and all our 200s going to ATL or back to DTW/MSP, will they even need EDV 900s? Will they pull us out of NY altogether?

Also heard rumblings that MSP will lose all 900s with the MD8's going there from NY, and MSP will be 200s only.

Lots of change on the horizon, for sure.

Maybe they're positioning the XJT 900s for EDV to take them in 2018? I suspect a shift in two class flying from MSP, but not entirely. We'll still operate some lines.

Yes, our 900s are here to stay in NYC. I'd hazard a guess and say that the incoming ASA aircraft would help relieve the 200s current lift in NYC.

So with 70 new captain openings, how junior will this possibly go?
