Apparently Airbus doesn't think the A-380 is an ugly enough piece of crap. Man, that plane just doesn't look good from any angle I've seen it from - this thing is even worse!

Maybe the pilots watch a monitor displaying a virtual centerline view?

That's what I was thinking.

That is a lot of wetted area for a fuel efficient design goal.

...I served with Han Solo, I knew Han Solo, Han Solo was a friend of mine. NoBrakes, you're no Han Solo.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Neither was Timothy Leary. Respectfully, I'd say he had more to do with this than Rutan.

On the ground that thing would steer like a grocery cart.

The Russians called, they want their design back.

If Rutan wanted to design a flying grocery cart, I wouldn't bet against it:

BiPod to VariViggen - Rutan's First to Last - YouTube

Back in the '70s, he spoke at our Daedalians dinner and someone asked what material he used to build a wing. He said "bed sheets and honey".

Nor I. But I'd rather go flyin' with Leary.
