If you were NYC based....
1. Which regional would you choose?
2. If control of your schedule were important, does that effect your decision?
3. If you were hoping for night and weekend flying more than during the weekday, does Republic hold an edge based on the amount of shuttle flying?
4. How real are the flow agreements that Envoy and Endeavor have?
Thanks for the advice!

1. Which regional would you choose? Depends on your priorities. If you want flow, Envoy. If you want QOL, EDV. It remains to be seen if AAG will up Envoy's pay rates to match EDV's TA rates. So it's hard to say whether or not the pay will be a wash. I'd say there's a good chance that AAG will remain competitive with pay. But obviously if they don't act, money will be better at EDV.
2. If control of your schedule were important, does that effect your decision? EDV wins here
3. If you were hoping for night and weekend flying more than during the weekday, does Republic hold an edge based on the amount of shuttle flying? Ask that in the Republic section.
4. How real are the flow agreements that Envoy and Endeavor have?
EDV doesn't have flow, they have a guaranteed interview at Delta if you meet the minimum requirements to be a Delta pilot. From what I understand, it has about a 60% success rate. Flow at Envoy is definitely real. As long as AA is running classes, we send pilots. No interview or medical exam required, just take a drug test and show up to class. The only thing that will stop you from flowing is if you have any open disciplinary cases at Envoy.
Thanks for the advice!
Pretty much boils down to if you want good schedules and QOL, go to EDV. If you want the free insurance policy of flow in your back pocket, go to Envoy. I don't know a ton about Republic, but I believe you can get a decent schedule there fairly quickly. But I'd probably stick with one of the Delta or AA wholly owned regionals. More job security as we move into the future and the pilot shortage really starts to rear its head.

BigTime,
Thanks for reply, really appreciate it. I was originally really focused on Envoy, but it doesn't seem like there's much NYC flying, and without PBS it seems like QOL would suffer with such slim pickings.
Again, thanks.

I had a Line right off IOE.
I’ll uograde as soon as I hit part 121 mins.
As for being a street hire CA (if you happen to meet the mins), you will be at the bottom of the seniority list (relatively speaking) for about 18 months or so until all the FO’s building hours to meet mins upgrade and have trickled I’m above you. But that would be the same at any company with quick upgrades.

Just as an additional FYI, if you want NY, it's definitely the place to be at Envoy. They have the best schedules out of all the bases (17 and 18 day off lines) and since it's the least desirable base for most people, many will bid out at the first chance they get. So the increase in relative seniority would be the best in NY. And NY is growing throughout next year. They're supposed to be adding at least 8 airplanes to NY. And as soon as you have 1,000 hours of 121 time, you'll upgrade in NY. Again, it all depends on your priorities. Stick with EDV or Envoy and you won't really go wrong with either place. Interview at both and talk to the people at both and you'll know which sounds like the best fit. Good luck.

If you were NYC based....
Whomever gave you the information above is misrepresenting the facts or lying. ENY is growing and has plans for even more NYC growth as stated by others.
When considering regionals, evaluate not only on the current state, but also on trends. Non WO regionals are potentially in a world of hurt when mainline retirements begins to skyrocket towards peak and mainline takes some flying back.
NYC is a highly competitive market for both AA & DL. Especially LGA market.
FYI..... Something to think about. NYC is an relatively junior for ENY pilots who have flowed to AA. ENY pilots flowing who bid for NYC at AA Indoc (based on Age) have been getting it. I don't know how junior NYC is for Delta new hires. But if NYC & if AA is where you want to be long term, take a look at ENY more seriously.

Do you know of any current LGA based Envoy FOs who could tell me how many days off on average they are getting? Also, how soon after IOE can you hold a line??
Oh...and do you know if my bag will fit in a Republic aircraft overhead bin?? Thanks, love.
