Aircraft selection/RTP
Hello all,
how new hires are ranked when it comes to aircraft selection? I知 curious if being an RTP would have an impact. I知 in a position where i could come in as an RTP but it would only be to gain the 25 multi. I have all the other ratings/airplane time required. If there are any serious negatives to coming in RTP i could go snag the multi on my own. Also curious if there痴 any particular reason that one airframe is best or better than others. Looking for ORD/DFW both are easily commutable. Thanks for any advice! I値l be applying in the next week or so!

Based on age. Cadets get first pick followed by the remainder based on oldest in class.

Planes/base is picked by:
1. Company seniority (pipeline guys/cadets)
2. Prior 121 by time flown
3. Age
I'd go the route that will get you to Indoc fastest.
Aircraft selection: I'd go with 175 if you want ORD and the 145 if you want DFW. If you have no preference for base then I'd go with 175 ORD.

When it comes to aircraft selection being an RTP has no impact.

At this point, impossible to even guesstimate. ORD isn稚 even open yet for the 175, but anyone in DFW that wanted to go could have bid for it. DFW will be shrinking 175s faster than there is likely to be attrition. I wouldn稚 keep my hopes up. And if your thought is to upgrade, it will be even longer if you want to stay in the 175.
I know of at least one 145 April hire that was AWARDED DFW in the last bid. When the transfer will happen, not sure.
