Getting in touch with recruiters

Has anyone else found it impossible to get in contact with the recruiters? I have a class date and i'm trying to confirm a few last minute things such as travel and ****ing in a cup. They've answered maybe twice out of 30 attempts.

Just keep pinging away. I have sent requested documents in with no confirmation response. I'm sure they are overwhelmed with hiring and training. Show up when you are supposed to and if they didn't have you fill a cup beforehand, it's on them.

Message them on Facebook. That’s what o was doing before I started and got answers quickly.

Welcome to Envoy. That’s the norm around here. An airline with bankers hours.

My guess is it’s because people don’t check they’re AA emails very often.

I seemed to have the best success calling individuals' phone numbers and emailing the general email address.

I'm in a somewhat similar boat. I got called and an offer to interview, e-mailed the POC with all the information requested for an interview and followed-up with a phone call a week ago to schedule an interview, again, and haven't heard anything back for a week and no one answers the phone.

They're just swamped, they want to get you and your paperwork through trust me, just keep trying to make contact.

I've had better contact via Facebook compared to email and phone calls so far believe it or not

So, most pilot recruiters spend the day conducting interviews, reviewing applications, providing mentoring to Cadets, attending recruiting events all over the country etc. They also fly the line and take days off. Staff assistants handle much of the administrative work. Expect a decent percentage of calls to the recruiter line to initially go to voicemail. They will likely return your call as soon as possible. It’s amazing how many people seem to think that airlines have giant call centers full of line pilots just sitting around waiting for your call.

Other options are:
- Sending an email to the main Recruitment email address
- Emailing a recruiter directly via the Recruitment contacts webpage
- Contacting recruitment by first speaking to social media staff via the FB page
- if you are a current employee, stopping by the office.
- Making sure to get the name and direct number to each and every person you deal with in the process, so you can bypass the main line and go straight to the source

Also be sure to take a deep breath and remember that people don’t work 24/7, are occasionally out of the office for a day, and do sometimes take vacation. Also, many things in the airline pilot recruiting process have specific triggers, rules, procedures, processes, etc. Chances are...they haven’t forgotten about you. You just may not be the only person they are working with at the moment.
