CBT and Sabre/FOS on MAC/iPad

For my fellow Mac users out there, I've spent some time trying to get CBTs to work on Mac. None of the OS X browser combinations I've tried seemed to work. I found that you can install Internet Explorer 11 as a Windows 7 virtual machine and everything works great that way. If you download VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads you can also download the Windows 7 IE 11 virtual machine https://developer.microsoft.com/en-u...dge/tools/vms/

All of this is free. Directions for getting all of this to work are pretty well documented on the internet. If you have never used a virtual machine on OS X before there will be a bit of a learning curve.

The SabreView works much better in IE11 than on a Mac native browser. I like it a bit better than MobileFOS when I have space to break out the computer.

For completing CBTs on the iPad, I've tried a few different things (Safari, Chrome, FireFox, Puffin) with negative results. If you download the Photon browser from the AppStore you will be able to run the CBTs. It's not perfect, but it seems to work okay. I don't remember if the Photon browser cost me anything when I initially installed it years ago (it used to be what you used to access certain King Schools courses. I think they have gotten away from it though).

I can't get it to load in photon. Is there a trick to it?

I believe the union sent an email on this about a month ago. Apparently no apple products will support the CBTs. And its hit or miss on some PCs. The remaining options are to use a company firewall computer in a crew room to complete them or request the training department fly you into Dallas to complete them at the training center. It mentioned not to wait until the last minute to do them. It’s an archaic online system. Hope this helps.

The kids figured it out.

uninstall any version of chrome from your Mac and install this older version (chrome v49.0.2623.75) and the 145 CBT's will work. https://google-chrome.en.uptodown.co...ownload/452299
