Seniority number question

Looking at the published seniority list dated 15Jan2018 my number is 128 lower than the number listed in my HI8. What gives?

DECS is always behind on seniority numbers.

That seems strange to a newbie like me. Shouldn’t all computer systems pull from the same database?

And I haven’t even been here two months yet, can it really be behind by 128 people in 6 weeks? Are that many people leaving? That would put the flow at like 2 years. I know that ain’t right.

DECS numbers are updated every few months - the company needs to polish their abacus every once in awhile. It's a very antiquated system. Generally the union seniority lists are mostly accurate when published, so go off of them.

Thanks for that.
