How to CBTs
Thank you to everyone who answered my last CBT question.
New question. I’ve started CBTs but I’m pretty sure I’m doing it wrong. I’ve gone through several of them and I’ve been taking detailed notes. It’s taking me hours and hours to get through just one that way. The time estimate for the Auto Flight CBT was 100 minutes. It took me two days. I’m sure I benefited but I don’t see how I’d have time to get through all of them this way.
I’m doing them wrong aren’t I?
Advice from someone who recently did them and made it through to the end and is flying now would be appreciated.
I have tons of hours, probably more than most in my class. BUT, my hours are almost entirely in piston singles with some but not much in technically advanced aircraft. Most of the other guys in my class have time in jets and Blackhawks and Chinooks that are technically advanced.

You are doing wrong. Just watch them and listen to the audio. The test at the end is untimed and you can essentially take it open book by looking up the answers in AOM1/AOM2 while you take the test. Get 'em over and done with and get to work on your flows.

Not sure which airplane you're on, but when I did crj cbt's on my iPad, I took screenshots of the material that I wanted to reference again later. Take the tests on my desktop, and refer to the iPad screenshots for reference.

I would open an entire chapter and play them all at once, cycling through to hit the next page. At the end of each id purposely bust the quiz, grab the answers, and retake it with a 100%. You could knock out a whole chapter in 10 minutes.
To study systems i simply read through the AOM2 and highlighted all the study guide answers. Surprisingly more helpful than the CBTs

Oh thank God in Heaven. You have no idea how grateful I am for that answer. I've since looked in AOM 1&2 and seen that the CBTs are practically verbatim from the AOMs. Thank you for saving me hours and days of time.
It's about like the INDOC test over FM1 that way. Just longer.
