E75 Upgrade Training Footprint
Saw the question posted somewhere but no answer. If on the 75 and upgrading is there a shorter training footprint now? When I went through as an FO upgrades where doing the same program minus Indoc.

Qualified Upgrade should be shorter. I’m assuming the CAs you were working with hadn’t come straight from 175 FO to 175 CA.

If I remember correctly there was QUG program in development for the 175 but the first trial runs didn't go so well. I'm not sure if they are going to, or already have, brought it back.

Is it possible for a new hire 145 FO to be awarded a 175 FO slot within their fist year of Envoy?

Curious to know how many 175 CA there are and how man 145 CA there on bids. What are the chances of a 145 CA getting into the 175 as a CA. Curiosity is all

However, there are other ways for a 145 CA guy to get the 175 IF he hasn't finished IOE/Fed ride. A Pilot doesn't become a CA until he completely finishes training. |

My last and final advice is to contact your union rep if you want bidding advice. Tell them what you want and they will point you in the right direction. |

Classroom: DNR, 3 class days (classes look exactly like CQ ground) CPT: 2 sessions then SV and PV (very similar to the QC CPT/SV/PV) SIM: 4 lessons including 1 LOFT, then MV and LOE IOE: Looks like ALL Captains going thru training get 50 hours of IOE, then their Initial Line Check/FAA Observation |
E75 Upgrade Training Footprint
Did CRJ program go through a certification process for Qualified upgrades? If so who pulled the plug and why?
Now that the CRJ is going to be around ANOTHER 1.5 - 2 yrs. Would be a no brainer decision to have one, and it would be nice for those 1st time upgrades already typed and experienced on it plus 50hrs IOE, makes for an even safer, and more efficient operational transition. The irony of how some management folks point fingers behind closed doors that Line Pilots are inefficient, costly, and wasteful. Each fleet type should have a Qualified Upgrade program in place at a time when there is CA shortage. Just my 2 cents. We all want the best for this company. |

The future of a CRJ QU program has never been shot down as a definite no. Unfortunately, not too many students would qualify to attend a CRJ QU so as to get enough data for a SGT. This last bid might make a difference, we'll see. |
