Default DFW as New-Hire / Sign-on Bonus

Anyone know if you can get based in DFW as a new-hire FO? I'm looking at regionals where I could be based in Dallas.

Also, does Envoy hand out a new-hire bonus? If so, how much do you take home, is it up-front or split between paychecks, and is it tied to a training contract?

Thanks for the info!

Recently, off the street hires have been getting 175 DFW and Envoy is still doing 17k bonuses lump sum first day.

You bid for equipment/bases though and it is possible that you may get stuck on the 145, first in NY, then in Chicago, then finally Dallas. Make sure it's worth the risk of getting the 2 year sentence to the 145 or that you're willing to walk after bidding on equipment.

If not in 10 months or less you’ll be able to get it awarded

My advice is run far away. This place doesn’t know how to treat people.

So what is the honest chance of being awarded DFW for a new hire? Or is it realistic to be looking at 2 years lga before being able to get back?

If you bid early enough in your group you have a chance perhaps. If your in the bottom half no chance

It won't be two years of LGA, 6 mos. is realistic though. Then you'll be in ORD, and that could be a VERY long sit based on the last bid. It's hard to accurately predict this stuff, they don't tell us what they're gonna offer and class and your ability to make the hero's journey back to DFW is dependent on how much they hire into the 145.

On getting a golden ticket in class, again totally random for the reason I just mentioned. They don't tell us what's going to be offered, but there have been almost all-175 classes recently, and it will take no time at all to get DFW even if you get ORD in class on the 175. Conventionally (for the past 8 mos or so) you had to be very senior in class, like in your 40's or a cadet, to be safe in getting the 175, but they've mixed it up again.

Swayne might get DFW as a new hire. Then again he's doing his videos "in partnership with Envoy" so they might just give him a 175 DFW FO slot.

They can’t do that even if they want to. New hire bidding must be accomplished per the contract. Even the new Director of Flight Ops - Tech had to bid (granted, for a DEC slot in Group 2 due to his previous 121 experience) and he’s management. The only way Swayne gets a 175 is if the company puts enough of them in the bid so he can choose one. Apparently, he was not a Cadet at UND, so that puts him likely near the bottom of Group 3 based on age.

With pretty much all of the FO spots in the last two classes being 175, I’m not sure how likely it is for that to continue.

Or they could get creative and have him start class on Sunday and just offer one slot. There’s always a way.
