DFW as New-Hire / Sign-on Bonus
Anyone know if you can get based in DFW as a new-hire FO? I'm looking at regionals where I could be based in Dallas.
Also, does Envoy hand out a new-hire bonus? If so, how much do you take home, is it up-front or split between paychecks, and is it tied to a training contract?
Thanks for the info!

Recently, off the street hires have been getting 175 DFW and Envoy is still doing 17k bonuses lump sum first day.
You bid for equipment/bases though and it is possible that you may get stuck on the 145, first in NY, then in Chicago, then finally Dallas. Make sure it's worth the risk of getting the 2 year sentence to the 145 or that you're willing to walk after bidding on equipment.

On getting a golden ticket in class, again totally random for the reason I just mentioned. They don't tell us what's going to be offered, but there have been almost all-175 classes recently, and it will take no time at all to get DFW even if you get ORD in class on the 175. Conventionally (for the past 8 mos or so) you had to be very senior in class, like in your 40's or a cadet, to be safe in getting the 175, but they've mixed it up again.

With pretty much all of the FO spots in the last two classes being 175, I’m not sure how likely it is for that to continue.

They can’t do that even if they want to. New hire bidding must be accomplished per the contract. Even the new Director of Flight Ops - Tech had to bid (granted, for a DEC slot in Group 2 due to his previous 121 experience) and he’s management. The only way Swayne gets a 175 is if the company puts enough of them in the bid so he can choose one. Apparently, he was not a Cadet at UND, so that puts him likely near the bottom of Group 3 based on age.
