Vacation slide and DTS question

If accidentally hit the vacation slide option along with the DTD option, when I only want to DTS what touches my vacation, if I send an email with in 24hours will they only DTS not perform the slide option?

I have no clue. Havent had vacation yet. And not trying to hijack, but I searched and could not find the answer.

What is the best way to maximize pay during a vacation month if you plan on working it anyways. Looking for many different scenarios to see which one works best for me.

Try sending an RF100 TRAN with the request. You have 24 hr from bid close.

Unfortunately you have been envoyed. They (CS trans team) will not honor the email and will slide first, no matter what when you select Y to slide.

I went thru this years ago and got no resolution from CS. They always slide first when you select it.

My suggestions to everyone that asks what to do with Vacation is bid and leave slide and DTS as N until the bids close and you see what you held. Unless you ABSOLUTELY can guarantee what you are bidding aka top 10 on the list do not select Y to anything. Wait til the bids close then send the email to request your preference!

I hear what you are saying, but no where in the contract does It say once you select Y you can't reverse it. The contract actually says that we have up to 24 hours to ELECT what we want to do with conflicts with our vacation block. Via bid election, rd message or EQUIVALENT.

So my understanding is i have the contractual right within the 24 hours to tell them via email, or RF message what to do with my conflicts.

Did you file a grievance? I believe a paragraph on the front of the bid packet constitutes contractual language.

I am just trying to help you. I totally understand your frustrations but you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

You can always try to email them and see what they say but I am trying telling you what they will say.

If I am wrong then I apologize and will give myself some lashings but please report back so that we can learn from this.

Thanks, being here for some time disappointment is the normal when dealing with the company and even our union on contractual issues.

I for sure will be filing a grievence if not worked out, just wish more pilots would fight a little harder for our contractual rights and not be desensitized because of the norm of the company not following the contract and doing what is easier for them. Sad thing is our union leadership leads this way also.

Thanks again for your help, I was hoping to find someone that has had the same issue and found a resolution to it.
