Direct Entry Captain

I meet and exceed the qualifications for DEC.
The question is what will be the second year pay be?

I have been with the FAA as an ASI so
I haven’t flown in 3 years. 5 types and no
Skeletons in the closet.

Around 68 per hour off the top of my head.

If you came over right now, you'd be looking at $69/hr under the 2020 pay scales. And stuck on RSV forever.

Nothing you posted matters in terms of pay. Pretty sure first year captain ot is less than $68, but not by much.

My advice is to look elsewhere. Managment has once again shown how they truly feel about us.

Stay where you are. You have a good retirement and a job that keeps you home at night. If you want to fly, rent a 172. We have no retirement to speak of, we are shrinking our NY base, and American isn't stable (IMO).

The why come here? QOL is crap for DECs. Unless you live in base, and don't mind sitting standby at the airport day after day.
Year 2 captain pay is 68.33

With a resume like that why not go for Spirit, Jet Blue, or Frontier? Even Southwest only wants 2,500 total time.

I'm sure he is, but in the meantime if he gets a couple hundred hours recent PIC under his belt and a fresh long term, he's a lot more likely to get those calls.
