Commuter 4 Hotel Nights Policy

Your recruiting website says commuters get 4 hotel nights per month. Is that good indefinitely? Or only so many months (Example 12, 18, 24 months) at the start of your career

It’s good for as long as you work for Envoy, although if you live in base I don’t think you’re allowed to use them

Thank you!

More specifically it’s if you live within 50 miles of base.

This is accurate. Specifically, you cannot has commuter hotels it your address on file is within 50 mi of your base airport.

Interestingly our contract also has a fairly liberal hotel policy. If you lose an overnight you were assigned at any point for any reason, that’s a hotel in base. Period. Newly trained NY pilots (NYC base in class) also get 3 months of unlimited hotels although the company has been illegally denying them sometimes.

Thanks for all the clarification. Fly Safe.

People have gone over their allowance per month as well, hence the HI6 messages every now and then to play by the rules...

Like I said, not sure if it's "allowed" but also never been denied.

I've had multiple FAs tell me that these requests get randomly audited and those found going over the limit are billed the costs of the extra stays.

Keep in mind these are probably the same FAs whose cousin's brother told them LAX is opening 2 weeks ago

Just be careful, as the 50 mile perimeter is a rule. The way I understand it, is all requests are simply forwarded to API. There is no checking to see if your location qualifies, or if you have used more than 4.

Only suspicion or a random audit have caught pilots who abused the system.
