Envoy Monthly Hours
Hello all,
I have been interested in joining Envoy for a while now, but have been hearing that a new hire today will probably sit reserve for a looong time and barely fly during that time on reserve. Is that accurate? I’m on the fence trying to decide if I go to Envoy(no 1 on my list) or XJT. Mainly because of the TX bases. I was considering envoy also for the flow and the fact that it’s wholly owned by AA. But if the above is true, I might have to go to my no 2 on the list. Thank in advance! |
Constantly in flux, but things are much better on the 175. Personally, I closed out my first year (all reserve) with less than 200 hours as did all my 145 classmates.

I'm relatively new and that hasn't been my experience. Feel free to PM if you'd like.

Skywest is fairly junior and expanding in DFW.
Who’s to say they will be there in the long term? They’re growing now but will shrink later. That’s their history of bases. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Sounds like envoy.
Order of schedules assigned by aag by the individual regional selection of flying, 1. Republic 2. Skywest 3. Mesa 4. Psa 5. Pdt And the left overs go to number 6. Envoy |

Envoy When was the last time you saw a non-Envoy AA 175 in DFW? Or ORD for that matter. RAH is shrinking in ORD. Or an Envoy 175 in MIA? Or NYC? There isn't that much overlap between the fleets and operators, and Envoy has been taking a lot of the more productive DFW flying from Mesa. I know you are happy with the day trip lines. AA fleet planning decides who does what. They fill their contractual requirements first before giving flying to the WOs, but there is hardly any conflict of interest between the regional feed providers. |
