Expedite option or if you need it within 25 hours goto the facility in Tucson in person.

Don't forget to ask for the day off and A-pass travel to get it.

To expand on this, the fastest option is to go to a State Dept Passport Agency/Center in person. Tucson is one of these, but they're all over the country. Typically, you will drop off in the morning and pick up that afternoon. You may want a letter from the CPO, or a dummy intl non-rev listing, to show proof of intl travel within the next 14 days.

I have renewed mine fairly recently in LA at the federal building. Had all the paperwork, printout of my flight schedule showing YYC the following week, and a letter from CPO. Still denied processing it the same day. So I surrendered it, called CPO/scheduling and was told YYC would simply be removed from my schedule (paid) if I didn’t receive the passport back in time, which I did receive it only 3 days later. The takeaway for me is just to do the minimal effort to renew, just like the regular flying public. Send the passport off in the mail and get it when you get it. Simply advise the company you are without it and they’ll adjust your schedule. Of course, no KCM out of uniform for you till you get it back. YMMV

Why no KCM? Nothing requires you to have a passport for that.

Maybe duder doesn't have a rack of state/Federal issued ID?

That's a case for throwing down the extra $20-ish at passport renewal time for a passport card. Really useful as ID that doesn't have your address on it.

I agree the passport card is a good idea but there are still other ID options.

You need your pilot certificate, a drivers license, and your company ID when out of uniform.

My mistake . I thought a passport was required additionally for KCM out of uniform. I should’ve left that part off my original response since I wasn’t actually certain on that. Thanks for the clarification.
