The Truth About QuickTrade

I have been investigating for a few years into QuickTrade. I have decided to come fourth and expose the situation. For years, QuickTrade has brought magic, serenity, and most importantly, hope. Hope that one day, we may see all the gains from OT and Critical Coverage flying. It started off sincere, it cared about the well being of its pilots. Thousands of people tune in to QuickTrade updates, showing fellow pilots how easy it was to swap, drop, and pick up flights. It wasn’t long that it gained a large follow base, and became a mass hit. But with mass success, comes with massive challenges, and breeds enemies.

The fame made QuickTrade complacent, and when it least expected, its utter rival began a legal suit over its power, essentially shutting it down, taking its power, and dethroning the king. QuickTrade lost everything, and we have one enemy to thank for that.

That enemy, ladies and gents, is CAROLE ********* BASKIN!!!!

P.S. check the septic tank.

ELI5 what Quicktrade is? Is it a trade board where the transactions doesn't require company approval?

Our entire system is an 80s style text/command based. QuickTrade turns this all into a graphical user interface/app so you don’t have to type 10 commands just to pickup a trip.

Think of any movie where there’s a hacker typing frantically with a bunch of scrolling text on the screen and that’s basically what our system is. It also times out after like 30 seconds of inactivity and you have to start all over if it does.

Accurate. If it’s one thing that bothers me about The Envoy, it’s our dinosaur system

If there was only one thing that bothered you, it wouldn’t BE Envoy...

This post is not meant to bash our union guys, they are doing a good job so far.

With that being said, the union should at least send a NASTY email asking for more explanation why they decided to shutdown QT. Those cowards shutdown an hour after the union agreed with the LOA. They ****ed me off so much that I decided to pick up OT out of base. Do they really want us to be on their side? I think they are just uniting the pilot group to go against the company and their despicable behavior.

for the record- I know that QT is not company software.

The answer is to the suggested nasty email is easy. The MEC voted down the proposed LOA that would have allowed them to withhold OT. It’s retaliation pure and simple.

Of course, if WE retaliate, it’s an illegal work action.

Maybe the union guys know the reason? And are working on it?
I mean, I don't know, but just a guess.

MqWhistleblower 04-04-2020 03:55 PM

The reason? We are dealing with rats, and people are scared of retaliation.

I think the pilot group would appreciate a nasty email against management.

I REALLY hope it’s not a negotiated solution.

Then send a comm out to the pilot group and don't leave us in the dark.

You should email the union guys and ask for that.

Someone mentioned a while ago that negotiating non-contractual issues can be tricky.

MqWhistleblower 04-04-2020 04:10 PM

Management is negotiating in bad faith. They clearly showed us with the sudden shutdown of QT.

It’s like last year with the rejected AIP. MEC should have never been negotiating then. Should have been AIP or nothing. No reason to discuss anything else. And yet we got something else. I’m sure now, we’ll get some sort of reduced situation with QT... because that’s just what we do here, we allow bad management behavior.

well they cant cause you know they don't want to ruin the “relationship” with management. They know bad things are coming and they wont even warn the pilot group.

i don't blame them tho they are pilots not professional negotiators. The whole good moral character requirement goes out the window once you join management I guess.
