Unbelievable
I’m originally from Italy, I must have not written my though the right way to make you understand what I meant.

I choose ATP last year in January instead of any other school out there , honestly because I trusted the pilot I flew with and because it wasn’t really hard to get approved with their financial partners on my own without a co-signer , heck probably without atp I could have not gotten the Chance to do this, didn’t have a penny just a good credit score.

didn’t take too long to check their website and see they were very expensive, compared to any other school in this country.

reading in their website I noticed that they were advertising that airlines were paying Cadet bonuses so I though, what the heck it’s expensive but at least they will help me to pay my student loan back with this cadet money.

atp is by far the biggest flight school I’ve seen in the us, probably in the world.

now, considering that it seems like those bonuses are about to disappear, I believe not that many people will want to spend that kind of money like me (70k 80k 90k) to get the certs done knowing that from 250 to 1500 there are virtually not enough ways for quit a while.
Knowing ATP being so big , less ppl will apply there Less pilots will be generated, (whatever you like it or not lots of pilots out there comes from atp)

i didn’t Want to do this for money or anything, I was just promised by my school for some financial relief to pay for the huge loan and it’s really scary for me to see this disappearing now like all my buddy from my class etc

i try to think now what a new person that wants to became a pilot will have to go through and to me is not looking that will increase the amount of ppl choosing this career any time sooner

schools are much more expensive compared to a decade ago, with the 1500 hours atp reg and really not many options to build that time (lots of 135 company - the one left - have stopped hiring low timers and school definitely did slow down) I believe lots of people will invest their money somewhere else

i got no parents anymore, nobody to back me up financially so it’s really frustrating

this is my last post here , cannot believe all this wake up before indoc or you should or should not be an airline pilot thing
I’m just expressing my opinion

Maybe it's the language barrier but your first post made it seem like you were only coming here for a bonus.

Your situation is unfortunate, and many people are in it right now, thousands have been in the past, and thousands more will be in the future. It's up to you to decide now if you want to ride it out or not.

Optimistically, don't expect any regional to hire a 1500 hour fresh pilot until 2021, that's just the fact of what's happening right now, and I highly doubt you'll see a bonus for any fresh pilot before 2022.

Not trying to put you down, but just some advice, never take out a loan/invest in something with income you expect to have in the future based on advice someone gave you. If you can't afford to pay it with your current income then don't do it. Whether it be flight loans, a house, car, etc. You always need a plan B and C in case things fail, and you can't rely on promises to make financial decisions that will follow you 10-20 years.

I appreciate the advise man, I know it’s hard for everyone, it really sucks, let’s see, I just got back a minute ago from a good ride on a p31 350 today, turn to pensacola from FLL , a friend of mine Job and made me be his co pilot, he always call me when he has this type of jobs, maybe it leads to something good , trying to stay positive ✈️

Anyone know the status of whether they’re still accepting applications or interviewing for the cadet program?

They recently had a town hall. My affiliated school is still doing HR interviews but they have paused all hiring at HQ UFN.

Is Envoy still providing unlimited D2 flight benefits to Cadets and D2Ps for their parents, buddy passes, health benefits, and $500 of monthly tuition reimbursement to ATP flight instructors who had been accepted into the program?

Are Cadet ATP instructors still guaranteed a first officer job with Envoy when hiring resumes?

These are all questions you should ask your recruiter right away before he or she gets laid off.

Not sure where madcow is going with this, but he’s not a prospective cadet.

You’re right. I’m not.
I’m just curious. I don’t mean anything by it, and I’m not going anywhere. I was told some things in person by a young guy last week, things that seemed tough to believe, but I kept my mouth shut and wanted to verify and determine what the truth is here.

What is the truth?

If furloughs do happen across the industry, and at the WO carriers, it would make sense that the cadets are some of the first to go. The market would be filled with qualified candidates, why keep throwing money into a program when you can get people off the street for free?
