Bonuses vs pay scale

Times like these show pay scales are more important than bonuses the company can cancel. Anyone have any doubt the company would of canceled the FO retention bonus?

Thank you to all the union reps out there and the NC that finally pushed it through.

Yes and no. If things are really bad enough pay rates won’t matter one way or the other. They’ll wipe them out in a bankruptcy contract or whipsaw to see who is willing to do the flying cheaper. There is no real leverage at a regional.

Laughable that you are all over the forum touting yourself as an "expert." More so that you are here in the Envoy thread. You need to remember that Envoy was the original WO of AA and you guys and PDT just got lucky and got swept in on our coattails. Your flow percentages are far, far less than Envoy's and you and PDT play second fiddle to ENY so, who really cares if you think "They’ll wipe them out in a bankruptcy contract or whipsaw to see who is willing to do the flying cheaper." That's a totally false statement and you know it. Stick to the PSA thread.

Yes and yes. It’s true that things could get worse, but pay is much more protected than bonuses. The bonuses would already be gone, while they haven’t (yet), tried to even open negotiations for pay rates.

Also, THKooj’s post is nonsense.

This should be a sticky at the top of every forum.

He must be thrilled there isnt an up/down vote option on these forums or else nothing they say would ever be seen.

They do serve one purpose though and that is everything they say, just know the opposite it true.

So pretty much THKooj is a seriously demented, nonsensical idiot.

Although nonsensical and idiot are somewhat redundant. But we’ll go with it.

Ummm.... excuse me Pedro, but the union reps and NC didn't exactly push it through. They took what the company offered and voted on it without putting it out to the pilot group. The company needed to raise hourly rates because they were no longer competitive in the market for new hires even with the bonuses and 5 year flow. Endeavor, Republic, and PSA are the ones to thank.

The only thing that happened was our new leadership campaigned that they wouldn't approve LOAs with a MEC only vote. Then they approved the first LOA change with a MEC only vote, but at least they wrote a nice letter saying they were sorry about that.
