A12 to and from work for a limited time.

From my experience with A12 travel to tdy, I'd use A12 to work and D2 home. Again, from my experience (stated this in past only to have a few vehemently disagree), A12 rarely means a confirmed seat so your just a notch higher than D1s on standby now and you're not supposed to use A passes for jumpseat.

I always think of A12 as free revenue standby… but you waited in the entire Starbucks line before you asked to standby…so now all the other people are ahead of you who are standing by.

A12s are not the same as the “A pass” you mention. It’s not a confirmed seat, so it’s acceptable to tale the JS

If that’s true, it changes things significantly. But not what I was told by union rep a few years ago.

An A12 is a standby request, you just have a higher priority. If it was an A1D, or A3, then yes, never take the JS. With an A12 treat it as you would your D2, take the seat of you get it, and don’t be pressured into the jump unless it’s your only way on.

Just wanted to add to this. A12 was comparted to A3 when I asked. A3, while better than A12, isn't always a confirmed seat either. Both are A passes, no jumpseat, as stated to me.

Soooo, you're saying it's kosher to take the jumpseat on an A12 if it's you're only way on even if that means it leaves another jumpseat qualified individual at the gate not listed on an A pass?

Or what’s the rules of taking the js on an A12? Like do I get priority over someone on their own metal?

Yes, absolutely.

We had guys using them going to LGA/JFK for years. It’s essentially just a higher priority standby.

A12 is a confirmed seat if you book it with available E seat inventory. I have seat assignments right now for my trip at the end of this month. Get in FOS and book it boys.
