Is Envoy canceling Non-121 CJO’s classes?

I got several calls today (well 4), that Envoy has canceled their new hire class dates. These 4 were CFI’s (or no 121 experience). They were told that Envoy is using those classes to put thru DEC’s. Those new hires have not been given a replacement class date but told they could keep their ATP/CTP Class dates. Some had already quit their CFI Jobs for class dates within 2-4 weeks that no longer have a job nor a training class date.

Anyone have insight on what’s going on or is Envoy going to keep these folks hanging after ATP/CTP?

That is why I am asking. One call yeah, I’d be like whatever. But 4 that raises some hair on the back of my neck.

I don't know anything about this but it doesn't surprise me if Envoy is favoring 121 experienced applicants for classes. Since the pay bump, if you look at other regional sub forums, there are lots of folks from other regionals saying they are putting apps in to the AA WO now. Envoy needs captain qualified candidates more than it needs actual FOs right now so maybe Envoy thinks it can push some of those through training quickly?

They are paying top dollar. Might as well

We’re way understaffed on captains so it makes sense they’d want to fast track captain material.

What have the latest upgrade classes gotten for base and equipment? Has it all been ORD/DFW 145?

Latest bid is:
72 DFW CA E75
60 ORD CA E75
It will be run July 6th. Contractually, up to 30% (40) can come from 145 captains. If the company really is looking to downsize the 145, they will allow more than that number, OR if they want to keep them, they (Envoy) can choose to back fill those 145 captains with upgrades. Still don’t know how this will play out.

Makes sense. Has there been a flood of applications to Envoy from other airlines?

Not sure about a FLOOD, but obviously Envoy is hoping to hook some people with these $$. Just hope DECs realize what the are info, both with the lifestyle and caveats on the bonuses.

Any idea what the wait is for ATP-CTP class date? I was told classes are full and they will get back to me with a date.

Same question. I interviewed last week- I pressed for some idea of timeline so I could plan and give notice to current non-aviation employer, but didn't get any info.

Presumably all of the American WOs are going to be full up for a while.

As another data point, I'm a non-121 CJO. Put in my paperwork for review board about a week ago. No notice one way or the other

What paperwork is that? Logbook?

buddies8 06-21-2022 01:02 PM

We don't do paperwork just pulse check.

He likely means the packet from the interview was sent to the Captain's board. That, or he's making stuff up.

It was Captain's board. That supplement that you have to fill out about flight time, checkride/accident history, and logbook stuff

Mine took about a week. If it went to the board, you'll likely get the call, unless you ran an airplane off a runway, or bent metal somewhere and didn't disclose it.

Is the other, the fog the mirror test, a viable option?

Planegeek 06-24-2022 04:20 AM

I was told something similar as someone here as I was trying to sign up for atp ctp that classes were full. Nothing about that the date I wanted was full and to choose another date and they would reach out when they could schedule me. Anyone else who got this actually here anything yet about getting a class scheduled?
