DEC bidding FO
 

We are to bid seat/domicile the 1st day. I am a DEC, but wouldn't mind a little FO time to come up to speed. Don't they allow for that? If so,
won't the eventually force the upgrade.....if so..how soon?

If they hired you as a CA, you'll be a CA.

This is my problem too, I decided to sit it out for the covid non-sense, but have over 1000 previous 121. Was interested in joining Envoy as an FO so I'd be able to hold a specific base with a line in a reasonable amount of time and not be on forever reserve, but they're not even taking FOs at this point it seems like.

I was told by my recruiter when all of this started that bidding as an FO for up to 6 months would be available. I'm not interested in it, but it may still be an option, or it may not. I'd send an email and ask prior to your orientation day.

Anyone know if you have to decide during the half-day visit for “orientation”… or if the decision is made on the first day of actual training?
