Timelines for New Hires
 

I interivewd back in September and passed but haven't recvied my finaly CJO or a class date yet. Is this typical for Envoy or should I start looking at someplace else? And does anyone know what the future class dates are for Envoy?

I also interviewed on Sept. 27th, got the job, and since then it's been like pulling teeth to get them to do anything.
I called and emailed 3 times and finally got the official CJO. Then after another 2 weeks of calling and emailing, I finally got my ATP CTP class scheduled. Now I'm stuck once again emailing and calling with no response. I've called every week day since last wednesday. I even took my ATP written into HQ and talked to a class scheduler in person and was told "I will send you an email by the end of today with more information on your class date". That was last Wednesday, no email..

They are probably slowing down non-cadet FO on boarding so Envoy can also offer FEDEX pilots a DEC bonus and hiring package.

I also interviewed mid-September and received my CJO in early October. However, nothing since then. I completed ATP-CTP earlier this summer, so I was hopeful that would expediate the process for me, but no such luck. Still waiting on any communication regarding a class date.

Just an anecdote - a friend in the Envoy process with a CJO was told sometime next spring. No new class dates for the near term. Sounded like it wasn't just him.

I went to one of their open houses for DECs. I have not heard anything back since and emails go unanswered. I kind of figured they might be waiting until after the holidays. A simple generic reply would have been nice though.

Same here. They advised us to consider taking a class date prior to the holidays, however, there has been NO communication from them since I left HQ. I have other CJO's and I'm sure other DEC qualified pilots in our group do as well.

Well shucks...within an hour of posting this I got a call with an orientation date. Coincidence? Probably not, but good to finally hear from them.

Did you get a 14 December "Onboarding" date ? I've been emailing the EPR email with questions for weeks since getting the date (see the last page of the "Junior FO bases" thread and only have gotten "what's your shirt size" and "what airport will you be flying out of" in response. Today I got an email to update my PRIA paperwork (that was updated LAST month) because it was expired.

I've already had a DEC CJO and the visit to HQ for logbook reviwe and fingerprints/UA and was offered teh job back in April but had to punt due to family issues, and when I contacted them back in October it's been like pulling teeth to get info.

Anyone know if this show up on the 14th "Onboarding" as they call it will be the sign the bonus/get on payroll/take the photo/get your company ID and then go home to await class date (I'm assuming likely after the new year now, knowing how 121 training programs roll....which is fine with me) but I kinda need to know a little bit of is it a 1 day deal or are they gonna expect us to be in DFW for awhile from the 14th....

I received the call as well today from a very nice lady. She explained Fly in on December 13, spend the night at the Hotel and the next day the 14th is a half day orientation. It is yes to all your questions in your post.

Yes, Orientation is a half day event. You will be assigned Indoc class dates based on your class seniority, an Orientation group typically fills 2-3 Indoc classes, about 1-5 weeks later. Once on payroll, you are not allowed to pass on assigned training dates except for court dates or military leave but they typically take breaks for the holidays. Sometimes Envoy prioritizes onboarding DECs and delays bringing on FOs but we don't seem to be feeling the captain shortage other regionals are.

Has there been any update about FO orientation or class dates? I interviewed on Nov 11 and still have had no word from recruitment. Still no CJO or word from recruitment about potential dates of anything. I have called every day and emailed with no word. Is this the same for other ATP-min FOs?

I interviewed mid October. I received the pre-employment offer and since then have not heard anything back from Envoy. I called and got told I passed the captain review board. Has anyone that interviewed around this time heard anything back from Envoy? I understand Holidays are busy and they are focused on DEC at the moment. I really just need a rough timeline in order to manage my current job. Thank you in advance.

Any updates on status? How long from CJO to a class date for a high-time FO?

Latest i've heard is that they still havent recieved their class dates for 2024.

September interview and no CJO
 

Anyone from a September interview still waiting? I did my interview September 12th and still don't have a CJO. I've talked to 5 or 6 recruiters. They just tell me I've passed the Captian Review Board and I'm "basically good to go". But I can't get any of them to do anything on my behalf. I have a class date with a different company later this month and I'm running out of time for Envoy. I don't have enough faith at this point to turn down the other opportunity.

I interviewed November 8th and also recieved the pre-employment offer. Haven't heard a single thing since, going with another offer at this point. The lack of communication seems to be common practice at a lot of regionals right now.

I'll share my own experience to give an idea of what the timeline is like for a CFI.

Mid-August interview; 3 weeks later captain review passed; 2 weeks later ATP-CTP and later invited to 11/2 orientation; less than a week from orientation a number of us were removed "indefinetly" due to class shirnkage; Mid-November invited to 12/14 orientation.

Some of the folks at atp-ctp were moved from the october orientation to the november 2nd date last minute just like I was. Since it looks like the priority is to the DECs, I would recommend any low time FOs to hold onto your jobs until the very last minute!

Wonder how many FOs are in the 12/14 class. I was one of the ones removed from the 11/2 date with ATP/CTP done in October and I didn't know about the 12/14 date until I saw people getting it on here.

You all that did the ATP-CTP course, where did they send you ? I am still waiting to hear from them as far as where/when I’m going for my week in the BS Box for that…

They send us to ATP Jets in Dallas. I did the ground portion of the class online and then flew into Dallas the following Monday and was there until Friday.

I'm in the same boat interviewed back in the last week of September. Very little communication I was also told I passed the captain review board. It seems the December 14 class is full of DEC which I get are a priority. But the last contact I had with them they stated they would by next week what the 2024 class schedules would. Hopefully we all know something soon.

I also interviewed on 11/8 with the offer. Hopefully company is waiting until after the holidays to onboard us. Fingers crossed.

A week ago I interviewed and received a FO position. I am not a cadet. I am wondering how far out ATP/CTP, orientation, and class dates are out? I am new to this process so any help would be great.

If the timeline is the same as it was a few months ago you can expect:
-1-4 weeks to hear back from captain review board
-ATP-CTP scheduled when you're available (if the ground is over zoom the course takes 11 days)
-Orientation could take somewhere between weeks and months depending on the demand of DEC and Cadets
-Class date could be between the week after orientation or up to 6 weeks of (paid) waiting

I'd recommend holding onto whatever you're doing now until the last minute because numerous non-cadet FOs have been booted from classes with only a couple days of notice.

I interviewed back in September and passed the captin review board. Envoy still hasn't given me a ATP/CTP or class date. I can't get any more information about when I might be scheduled. I'm starting to look at other options.

Does anyone know what the 2024 class dates are? I am currently waiting on a response on when I can be scheduled. EPR has not been extremely helpful in providing updates.

Told us Basic Indoc dates for next to classes are 1/15/2024 and 01/29/2024

I got my letter on 12/20 to report to class on 01/15/2024 I am a DEC.

Just interviewed on 2/14, and got the pre employment offer. The pilots there were claiming Envoy is doing 2 classes a month with 75+ a class. Any merit to this?

Pilot recruiters have a tendency to over promise to get you in the door. I went through training last spring and my observation was that large Orientation classes were broken up into smaller training classes staggered over a longer period of time so that there are no delays between Systems and Sims and they don't have too many people to get through sims at any one time, especially since some people will get an extra sim or two. Usually Orientation was once a month, a new Indoc started every two weeks, and a Systems class started every week. Some people had a five week break somewhere prior to Systems, some even longer when they were retraining E145 pilots on the E175 last summer.

Last year they were starting 26 pilots a week in the sims. All sim training is done in Dallas at 5 different locations. 150 pilots a month is probably possible if they added more instructors and increased the utilization of the contracted sims. Expect 3 days off between sims and IOE.

Our orientation class (1/18/24) was I think 48 people. Indoc is then scheduled by seniority (cadets>DECS>FOs) and our orientation class was broken into 3 indoc classes about 2 weeks apart. We had 11 days between orientation and indoc, the next class would be 2 weeks after that - so on and so forth. It is entirely dependent on sim availability. If you're an off the street first officer, expect to wait a while for orientation. Some waited weeks, some months. There's no telling how long it will be.
