NEW DEC

Hey all,

What the time line for a new DEC to get DFW? I see most get ORD out of the gate ( lol, see what I did there)

Longer than I'm willing to wait! Some will say '"by the time you finish training"... but I don't think that's been true the past few classes. More like a maybe few months to possibly several.

where are you going to get DFW? A few Months shouldn't be too bad to deal with

Depends on whether or not you're a commuter. A 2 leg commute with a 5on/3off reserve schedule isn't do-able for me.

The issue is that Envoy runs base awards a minimum of once every three months according to the contract. You will likely get awarded DFW during your first quarterly bid award, but you may be commuting to ORD for a month or two depending on when you start and finish training. The next bid award will be run the first week of April. When the last bid award was run, DECs who had started training 2-4 weeks prior were awarded DFW. If you aren't willing to commute to ORD for a month or two you don't want the job badly enough.
