Luggage
What is the best luggage to buy for the ERJ-175? (Luggage Works or Briggs & Riley) Also, does Envoy provide pilots with luggage during Indoc or no?

FO's bag is stored in an overhead bin in the back. Standard roll aboard size, black. Some guys really like the heavy steel framed bags, personally I've used a TravelPro for the last 5 years; 3 years at my prior carrier before I retired, 2 years at Envoy since I came out of retirement...same bag. Handle gives me issues occasionally, but the rest of it is solid.

it's litterally a new product with not much durability or reliability history to go by.

Uhm... FAs had very similar bags for eons. I personally have had the previous version of the pilot bag for 6+ years, changed wheels once, that's about it.

If you're new, I think the most important thing is to look for a bag with a luggage J hook to hang your flight bag off of. It counterbalances the weight and makes it so much easier to pull your bag.
I have the Luggageworks Aurora bag. I like that it is lighter than the heavy metal framed bags (I used to have one) and that it isn't too deep. The handle has always been a little funky and won't stay locked. I like my 20 year old Travelpro, it's handle is still perfect but the bag tends to pack a little fat unless I'm very careful. I would like a new bag but I don't need a new bag. I will go look at Crew Outfitters the next time I am in DFW because now I really want to check out that new Travelpro bag--but not badly enough to order it off the internet. |
A few people I fly with have luggage from the link below and are very happy. I am not affiliated with them at all.
