That is worth $20 a year.

You're wrong! Global Entry is the US government's expedited immigration program for frequent travelers and helps speed travelers through customs and immigration without having to wait in hours'-long lines that makes the$100*fee per year more than worth it. And even better we'll be able to use it for personal travel as well.

Envoy To Provide Global Entry For Crewmembers

Diva, check your facts before you get on your high horse. The fee is $100, but it's a 5-year pass. The equates to $20 a year.

No, you are wrong. It's a $100 fee but it's good for a 5 year membership into Global Entry. $100 / 5 years = $20 a year. Who is wrong?

And I know what Global Entry is. I have had it for 3 years and have used it 50+ times.

Doesn't really save you that much time either. Often, crew members who don't have Global Entry beat me thru customs as they utilize a sometimes quicker crew line. When G.E. is down I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get through crew customs. Enjoy your $20 a year non perk.

use2fly 01-13-2015 09:18 AM

It's a nice little perk, but nothing more. What about children?

these.....and processing the customs crew line is almost as fast as global entry....so while cool, no super benefit that diva claims....nice for personal travel though.

Same here! This would have been the deal breaker! But what about PSA and PDT?

Goodluck.

Hey, how was PNHL? Have any trouble finding the airport? I'm sure with your skillz and that mighty GV you had no problem with an off field landing.

I will use it at least twice in the coming year for personal travel abroad. Will I have paid to use it? No - AAG did. Over the course of my life time is it pennys that I get out of this yes. But still something I did not pay for.

People will complain if the company handed out $100 bills.

American Airlines To Provide Global Entry Membership For Crew Members -- FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Dang it, silly me for thinking the announcement would include $40/hr starting pay, historically low reserve time and a 12-18 month upgrade time!

I don't think anyone was complaining, just most are saying it's not a big deal.

Sorry my bad. I agree with you. Anyway my point with the post was to inform Envoy pilots will be getting company provided Global Entry memberships. I believe many will benefit from this both at work & on personal travel. I'm not a fan of long lines.

PilotJ3 01-13-2015 12:57 PM

I wonder why they left PSA and PDT behind??? It doesn't make sense...

I was thinking the same thing. Hmm...

unity2015 01-13-2015 01:09 PM

One reason I think we will be doing more international cities once the E175 come on line..I heard the (E175) dfw will be a bridge to the MIA flying..

mr25cents 01-13-2015 01:12 PM

...if you already have Global Entry, the company will reimburse you, that's $100 bucks back on my pocket, which is like 70 beers!

diva 01-13-2015 01:18 PM

I wouldn't mind doing some south american flying. Those layovers are a blast.

Probably because neither airline is currently doing any international flying (aside from FPO). And Envoy has daily flights to both Mexico and Canada? This ain't rocket surgery.

If I remember right the company pays for your passport renewal. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's great, I'll definitly be using the Global Entry quite often for my personal travels and TSA PreCheck lines at non KCM airports.

Anyone with a pilot badge can go through TSA PreCheck lines....... How long have you been flying 121?

most places in Canada don't need to do customs when you come back.

It's not like we have a lot of international places.

Post of the Year!

Even though it's only mid January, I am confident that there will not be a better post on APC in 2015.

LOL !

Tried it several times on mine and couldn't get it to do that. Just another lie as we all know you're still flying a DFW EMB schedule.

Good Luck.

And just think, you could have had all of the greatness of Global Entry for about $1 a month all these years. Just goes to show how much of a worthless benefit this is to you. Enjoy

Intransit 01-13-2015 11:14 PM

That actually would've come in very handy with all those Eagle layovers on Toronto. Of course I wasn't about to pay for it, but this will hopefully lead to more carriers following suit.

Ha! You think Parker boy is doing this for charity? He is lubing those APA boys once domestic/intl. gets combined.

Goodluck!

Goodluck!

You are the one whose iPhone auto corrected to a closed airport. Not sure how that implies what phone I have but just shows you reaching.

I remember when you used to be good at trolling. Now no one believes you. Even the worthless RDQ is a better troll.
