Envoy air retains CRJ700 aircraft, EMB-145s
reuters - Envoy air, a subsidiary of American Airlines Group(AAG), announced today that it would retain 97 aircraft previously slated to leave for other carriers. "This is fantastic news for our company", said Envoy air president Pedro Fabregas, "We proved that if our pilots would accept the same contract other carriers were willing to enact to take our airplanes, we could then keep our airplanes". Previously, PSA and Piedmont airlines, the other two AAG owned airlines, had accepted pay cuts in order to take Envoy's aircraft. Additionally, Trans States and Expressjet airlines had also bid low to take aircraft. "Envoy is the only regional airline with a current surplus of pilots", said CEO of AAG Doug Parker, "While others struggle to hire high quality pilots, we are able to keep the airplanes where they belong, with a strong and experienced pilot force". |

I sincerely hope this isn't an April Fools joke! Good for Envoy! They deserve to keep those airplanes.
