Envoy Displaced New Yorkers

Hi all, new thread as some of the others have descended into long held rivalries, and i really do hope to keep this positive.
I understand Envoy closed the New York bases earlier this year, what have folks affected by this done?

-Move Home
-Commute (to ORD or DFW?)
-Make a lateral or other move

I know this isn't a story by any means unique to regional drivers or MQ, and these situations are always dynamic; but am just trying to understand the QoL aspects of any decision i make..
Thanks!

It looks like the majority of them chose to commute to ORD.

And those of us awaiting training on new equipment or new seat have been involuntarily tdy'd to Chicago. Although there are a few benefits that go along with this particular tdy situation that keep our qol half way decent.

This most of us can hold commutable lines. Right now the vast majority are 15 days off. I'm 2/11 got 16 days off mostly three day partial weekends. I'm about 300 from upgrade. Ewr ord hasn't been a bad commute. Also the four hotels are a nice fall back. FedEx has a direct flight sun night to thur night both directions. Last flight out on 121 to ewr is ten pm first flight in lands ord 635am then FedEx in middle of night. Lga has a flight every twenty min. Hope this helps. Also this month almost all my trips after trading either start or end in a dh that is a city I can do from ewr. Our jetbridge swap loa pay protects if your ttot over 72 hr the dh pay if you elect to commute in for the first leg that's a dh. At the end your basically Ok to not even tell anyone IMHO. I also have one lga overnight for 15 hours.

This should be a poll

Yeah, the commute from the East Coast isn't bad - the worst thing about it I'd say is getting to the airport, whether it be EWR, LGA or JFK, and dealing with the parking issues. The company pays for it, but the employee is left to jump through the hoops to make it happen. Some are out of BDL and BOS, I'm not sure if there are any out of HPN. The ORD skeds tend to start early, so that means getting up REALLY early to get to one of the commute hubs and get to ORD. No fun, and if you've got a long first day that makes it worse. Luckily the scheds have been shifting towards more commutable rather than impossible to commute. Less 6-7 AM starts and 8-10PM finishes, now it more like 10-11AM and 6-7PM. Still some later and earlier, some are completely commutable, so getting better.
