This is true. This happens. I believe it happens for one month because after training and IOE they slow/stop the per diem for one month because they have paid us one month in advance for this. After two checks it's supposed to go back to almost what we were getting for training pay. Basically, we stop getting paid per diem for everyday and just get it for days we are flying.

Hey listen up guys. When you complete IOE is going to take about a month that for things like per diem and OT to kick in. My first month pay check was about 1800 but that's without per diem and OT because perdiem and OT is a month behind. MDloader you just finished ioe wait until next month that and look at it again. Also is going to be at the end of the month. The first pay check is just half of your garanteed.

The Bidding Overview page has a list of instructions. The link below that, Training Schedule, has a list of dates available for your month.
Make sure you know if you're doing R12 or R24. If you're not sure, HI*E will pull up your Quals page in DECS and you can see what you did last year. If this is your first AQP recurrent, they can start you on 12 or 24, so you'll have to call training to find out what you're bidding for. PM me if you need the training department phone number.
Hope this helps.

Do you volunteer for turn backs? Do you call CS if you see a trip in OT to add it on to your sequence? Do you resquest over nights from CS? I have never been denied a turn back request when I requested a specific trip. That solves the per diem issue. The only other problem is most trips are very low time trips picked apart for OT.

Hmmmm are ready reserves getting used? The mid day RR shift seems to be better at getting over nights then the other shifts.

Dude...if you think that the schedules were better at your old airline because of PBS, you're sorely mistaken. PBS won't magically give us better schedules. PBS would still use the same garbage pairings to generate the schedules. Garbage in, garbage out. PBS or no PBS. You won't magically get good schedules, but you will lose the ability to DTS vacation, get transition conflicts, and there will be substantially less OT for the guys that pick up OT. Please, talk to a scheduling rep and have them explain things to you before spewing more ignorant statements. PBS would be a HUGE concession.
I keep hearing about garbage schedules and don't see it. I'm off for 7 days straight now and my May schedule has 14 days off with 80 hours with the option of picking up a lot of OT at 200%. I'm off half the month!

PBS has worked really well at TSA. I voted it down actually originally. But everyone gets like 15/16 days off even if you're somewhat junior. The only issue is that there's less opentime and somewhat less control of your schedule like transitions but overall the schedules are better than before with more days off.
