I'm not saying he's wrong, but I'm saying there's also a lot of other alternatives to the company so there's no need to default to the worse case scenario will happen. Yes prepare for it but no need to be manic about something that could go either way.

Second, I think there was some talk about a program similar to the LTFO but via a LOA. I'm sure they have talked about other options I have no clue about.

Finally, this won't even come close to touching senior FOs. Unless the company goes WAY outside the contract. Per my current understanding of how this should play out.

Again, I have guessed and wondered too much about this. I'm gonna go get a beer and wait for the union to put out something about this.
The company is not going to force FOs to upgrade. That's ridiculous. You upgrade when you're ready.

So say the company does force junior qualified FOs to upgrade. Will it be 145 to 145 or does anyone think there will be a need to displace 145 FOs to 175 CA?

If they don't get enough CA bids, they most certainly will. Look at the vacancy bid telling pilots to update their displacement preferences in case there are insufficient CA bids. And also look at Section 15.G.4- If there are insufficient bidders for a vacancy, pilots may be assigned to such vacancy in reverse order of seniority among those pilots who meet the minimum qualifications to enter training for said position.

I'm being told ALPA will be sending out a comm soon addressing this fiasco.

If there were 160pilots I'd guess 100 lines give or take 10.
So are you saying that NH FO's who are still in training would be reassigned to the 175 ORD FO, regardless of their current equipment and base assignment?

I don't know. If they decide to force pilots into a vacancy per 15 G 4, then that is what I interprete 15 G 4. However, like I said before I am waiting to hear the company and union interpretation of this. I don't see them needing to do this for FOs.

Contractually they can force the upgrade. The company told us to plan on this happening via an HI6 message TWO days ago. I think it is highly probable and problematic if they do this.

This isn't something that's far out in left field. The company specifically said to get your displacement bids in pe 15 G 4.

Pretty sure that was in reference to FOs and CAs being displaced to ORD and possibly equipment. Not FOs "displacing" to CA.
