As a counterpoint, I had a Travelpro when I started and it practically exploded: the wheels broke, the handles broke, everything broke in less than 2 years. Had my luggageworks for 8+ years now, have only replaced the wheels when they get worn, and had to tighten a screw once. In fairness I do put it through a lot of abuse.

LW, is a top choice. Thousands of professional pilots promote it for good reason. Extremely durable. Period. Other good brands out there. But I like a sure thing. LW is a sure thing. If this is career.

CAPTAIN BONUS PAYMENT ISSUE
Fellow DFW Pilots,
Captains eligible to receive the Captain bonus related to the Envoy First Officer Flex Pay and Captain Bonus Letter of Agreement (LOA) did not receive their payment by the January 25th deadline. The Association discussed these payments recently with Envoy Management in an attempt to proactively prevent any issues with the disbursement of these payments as we have seen in the past. Unfortunately, Envoy Management did not take the necessary steps to prevent delays or discrepancies with these payments. We have been told by the Company these payments should have been transmitted today to eligible pilots.
This action by the Company represents yet another violation of our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). If you have been harmed as a result of the Company’s failure to pay this bonus timely, please file a contract compliance dispute form on the ALPA website and send your evidence of any actual harm (late fees, interest fees, overdraft fees, etc.) immediately to the [email protected] email address.
Your LEC 083 Leadership Team is furious with the Company’s continued failure to abide by our CBA. As always, if you encounter a circumstance that is not in compliance with the contract, please contact your LEC 083 Leadership Team immediately. While we can't oversee each of the thousands of operations conducted daily, with your help and continued vigilance we can address and ultimately resolve issues such as this.

Greetings fellow Envoy pilots,
I've lurked this board in years past and especially in the past couple months throughout the hiring process - so I will take a moment to say thank you for all the information provided.
I am in the January 30 class this coming Monday. From what I have heard there are 31 in this class. I have read the base/equipment breakdowns for previous classes in a previous post. Does anyone have any idea on the potential breakdowns in this class (i.e. are they likely to be pretty evenly dispersed or very LGA heavy)? Will there be an ORD 145? Additionally, I have read that it is highly likely to get DFW as a base, if desired, by completion of training(ish) at the latest. Does this still appear likely for someone in the Jan 30 class, let's say, in their late 20s?
Thanks again!

We could all take a guess, but you'll find out for sure in a couple days. Don't stress it too much! Enjoy your last weekend before training starts.
The last vacancy closed only a few weeks ago. I'm guessing the next one will be out in March, so you'll have to wait until then to see if you can hold DFW. With how much they're expanding LGA, I'm guessing all the 145 slots will be there. You might get the transfer to DFW before you finish training, especially with the rumors out there that sims are starting to back up.

I'm scheduled for the Jan 30 class. Got an email this evening about hotel change. Been following this thread so know it's not cool to say where training hotels are. But will say original hotel not only had a restaurant but was also within walking distance of numerous decent restaurants. New hotel has no restaurant and only one within walking distance is a Whataburger. 6 straight nights of Whataburger is a tough pill to swallow. Is this normal for training?

Which part is incorrect? At this point, thinking it's best I make the long drive just so I have a car. Original hotel they gave me, I was fine flying in at no cost to me.
