OO is trip trade, so someone traded out of it
DT is dropped trip, so someone dropped it
MR is Military Removal, so reservist is out

Does anyone know what the current reserve times for DFW 175 FO and ORD 175 are? Is it worth it commuting to ORD to get a line sooner? Also, if involuntary upgrades continue, where would one likely be displaced? Thanks

1. Don’t know.

2. Only you can answer that. For me, I have a very easy one leg commute to DFW and everywhere else is a two leg commute. I would probably prefer a line in another base to being junior reserve, probably not if at least senior reserve. But someone else in my situation would probably make a different choice.

3. Depends on your seniority and your 3D settings. I’d say, if there’s already captains junior to you in the base/equipment you want, it’s a pretty safe bet you can get displaced into that if you’re qualified on the next run. If not, who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky.

Thanks for the heads up. We live in North Texas, and I’m trying to figure out how much flying I can expect out of DFW. The rumor is that ORD reserve time is minimal. Hopefully the company gets what they need and involuntary upgrades are stopped in the future.

It’s a non issue.

Talk to your boyz on the CRJ side about their "woe is me" manifesto.

Don't understand criticizing pilots for complaining about 6+ mos of no flying reserve when other pilots who showed up for the right class date, were slightly older or enrolled in the cadet program only got 1 mo. of reserve, plus choice bases right out of training.

It actually IS a problem that your quality of life as an FO at Envoy is predicated more than anything on your class seniority.
