You bid for base and equipment. For example, maybe they will have ORD 175 and LGA 145 available, and you bid one of those. Bid any base with the 145 that is offered if you want MIA - Im not sure if Miami will be offered in new hire classes or not, but, you will probably be able to transfer pretty quickly once another vacancy bid is posted. The 145 is the only equipment in the Miami base.

Thanks for the info. Most people I've talked to have said getting to DFW shouldn't be too hard, but I haven't seen it listed in a vacancy since I started at Envoy. Hoping it all works out and I get backfilled.

The garbage contract reads "If there are insufficient bidders for a vacancy, pilots may be assigned to such vacancy in reverse order of seniority among those pilots who meet the minimum qualifications to enter training for said position."
This is opening a can of worms, I bet people within a year of flow will proffer to displace. Then the waterfall of displacements starts. It's not like the training center is already over saturated or anything.

I believe the best thing to do is don't bid anything. That way, you'll be displaced and not have a seat lock if flowing in a year or less. If you don't fall in that window then proffer for upgrade.
The only benefit I can think of if you straight up proffer to go to capt is you'll go into training ahead of the displacements. No moving expense, but you do get move days if it's into a different base.

Does it count as a new type though? The LGA 145 guys had a grievance some years back over not being able to bid the CRJ and lost since it wasn't a new type for the company since it had been in ORD for many years. Where are you seeing that, I can't find what you're referring to in the contract.
