Best place to stay in London?
 

I searched the forums and no luck, so here goes. Where is the best place to stay in London? I want to be able to see the most sites in the least amount of time (2 days). I would also like to pay no more than $150 a night. From the looks of tourist maps, Westminster might be the best. How easy is it to walk around once there? How hard is it to get from Heathrow or Gatwick? Has anyone been to the Imperial War Museum? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance

Good luck with that one! You may be able to find some around Paddington station for that much, but nothing fancy. Getting around is pretty easy, just jump on the tube! Sometimes... believe it or not those Virgin Vacation London hotel only deals have decent prices compared to walking in... of course you can "negotiate" hotel rates by just showing up. oh... and one more thing... look BOTH ways when crossing the streets.

You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary..******* Poppins... LONDON

actually it's a pretty cool place... just be sure to watch "Snatch" before you go

Getting a hotel room in Europe
 

Take the train from Gatwick (or the "tube" from Heathrow) to Victoria Station. Look for the information booth (marked by a round sign with a script "i"). They'll ask what kind of room you want, give availability, rates, & advice, and book it for you. The same booths are in most major European train stations, and I've always been satisfied with their service. :)
