Question FDX- CDG Layover Hotel

Can anybody give me some gouge on the layover hotels in CDG? I'll be in Paris mid-month on a personal trip to France and wondered if the crew hotels are any good. Will they give an "airline discount" for a FedEx guy not on company business? Would anyone recommend/not recommend any particular hotel?

Thanks....

I stayed at the Concorde Lafayette with my oldest daughter during Spring Break. They gave me a rate of 75 euros per day including the free breakfast for both of us. We stayed two nights and the total bill at checkout was 150 euros with no additional fees or taxes. I was expecting to get hammered on taxes but the rate quoted to me was the total inclusive price. Now I'm not saying this is the best hotel in Paris but it is conveniently located, one of our layover hotels and the price was definitely right. I did the entire transaction via email correspondence with the hotel about 45 days in advance.

75 € is a pretty good price. I had good luck finding an apartment using
VRBO is Vacation Rentals By Owner
A lot of options there.

I am taking the wife over to Europe in OCT. Just got an email response from the La Fayette... Crew rate they gave me was 90 euro a night. Rome rate on line was north of 250 euro a night!

PS Just got a response from our former hotel the Letietia (sp?)... No crew rate but kind enough to offer a junior suite for 520 euros a night! Ouch!

Hey mach,
Do you mind sharing that email to the concorde lafayette that you contacted them with. I am not able to get a good rate over the phone.

Anyone else have any good rates/crew rates on hotels for personal travel in Paris?

thanks!

I'm only familiar with the Lutetia. Can any of you with experience tell me how the locations of the Concord Lafayette and Le Meridiene compare to the location of the Lutetia?
From the Lutetia, the wife and I were able to walk to all the museums, tower, and latin quarter. Is the same true for the other hotels mentioned?

The Concorde Lafayette is located at the NW end of the Champs de Elysee, highlights are free breakfast, cheap(er) beer at the irish pub across the street, metro and train station one block away. Also the airfrance coach drops off right out front for 14 euros non stop from the airport.
Montparnasse is about a mile and half south of the river and latin quarter, in a neighborhood with lots of bars/ restaurants, etc. Metro station is across the street. Takes a lot longer to get here from the airport, and is more expensive if you are deviating or on vacation. Rooms are nicer than the concorde lafayette and bigger.
Neither has a location like the Letitia, but now that it has been remodeled, is really expensive, and not an option for us.
My plan is simple, I am going to go with the cheapest room and walk or metro where we need to go!

I'll let you know when I book something and what the rate was. I hope I can get something like check6 and mach got for less than 100 e a night.
