Prague?
 

Has anyone ever non-reved/jumpseated to Prague? I'm considering a trip to check out the breweries and cathedrals. How painless is it to jumpseat out of the airport? Any recs on food establishments or sites would be great.

Not sure about the jumpseat but I have been there 2 times for vacation .. once for a bachelor party and the second time with another group of friends ... crazy times.
Old town is the place to stay a lot of cathedrals and sites (Astronomical Clock) all within walking distance.
Food joints in old town especially by the astronomical clock are very expensive, but are good for a morning coffee and breakfast.
The hotel I stayed at was called Ventana, 5 star hotel , booked the Deluxe Loft Ventana Hotel Prague - De-lux Loft Room
came out to 150 euros a night which was a very good price at the time I went .. maybe with the dollar exchange now it might not be as worth it.
Regarding the bar/club/cafe scene, check out CAFE CAFE (place is full of models) , check out KU Bar which is directly across the street , Texle Mexle nice bar music is a little loud though and La Frabrique.

But agree re life...great city....and down town, OLD TOWN is jumping.

Had 4 nights in Marriott Courtyard, good crew rates, and 4 tram stops from the centre.

The JAZZ BOAT is good value, book on line(good discount), food was excellent, and beer very nice too..... Music was good.

Great place to visit but also has its shady areas that I wouldn't go into- look around the US Embassy area, the old quarter, and there are a ton of great places!

Awesome place to go. So many great things to see. You can walk around for several days. I've never jumpseated there, but I have worked flights in and out. A word of caution if you plan to use Delta. Their joint venture can hose you while non revving. I worked a PRG-JFK flight that looked great for non revs. 25 seats open in Business class. Then a KLM PRG-AMS flight canceled, and they put every pax who was continuing to JFK from AMS on the Delta PRG-JFK flight. All non revs were removed. So as always, be flexible.

Been there several times. Great city. Good public transportation. Friendly people. I used the Rick Steves guide books and found them to be great. I was there last summer and found a couple good hotels last minute on Hotels.com. Stayed one time at a hostel right off the Square (used hostelworld.com). It was not much more than a place to sleep, but it was cheap - most of my time was spend doing the sights and pubs anyhow. Wandering the streets of old town you will get lost, but that's half the fun. The river and the square will get you oriented again.

Amazing city. One of the longest escalators in Europe at Namesti Miru station. One of the best hostels in the world IMO, the Czech Inn... clever. And it's not on the Euro!

I can't help you with the jump seat but we fly there quite often in our aircraft. The Marriott in old town is very nice with a great location. It has a world class gym below the lobby level. Old town has many fine restaurants and bars. For bars, try Jack's Rabbit, Roxy, Sasazv, Budha Bar, and also the Sky Bar in the Hilton (not the Hilton in Old Town). Restaurants I would try are Ambientes (2 locations), Celnice just around the corner from the Marriott and Mlejnice. Hope this helps and have fun.
