Company unstable?

Hey guys, new here and love the site. Have a quick question about expressjet and regionals in general. Im ex-military with over 2500hrs TT all tanker. Out of cockpit for a good few years and looking to get back in. Been receiving calls for interviews from regionals, expressjet being one of them. Im seeing from this site that expressjet is not the place to be for contracts with delta or other reasons. But kind of confusing to understand. Im looking to interview with expressjet but wondering if someone could lay it out for me on what to watch out for. Also, if given offer, are airlines ok with applicant waiting to sign contract for other interview offers?

Also, are there any gotchas in the regional airline space as far as who not to work for? Or i guess who i should aim to work for. I live on west coast and goal as most pilots to go to majors. Thanks.

Spend a few weeks reading everything possible on these forums before interviewing anywhere. Every thread. The info will pay for itself.

Talk to pilots that work there.. these forums are for entertainment.. XJT is a great all round company. But I wouldn't go there tell they announce new airplane growth.. (won't happen for atleast 2 years)

If you live on the west coast, don't come to XJT. I've been here about 12 years, and have been commuting from out west the entire time. Not sure how long reserve is running for FOs. On the Captain side, we have 15 year guys in IAH (our western most base), barely holding a line. Stay away from this whole ASA/XJT/SKW mess, if you can avoid it. Where on the West coast do you live? PM me, I'd love to take some time to tell you all about it over a beer if you're local...

... Fixed it for you.

job offer

another curious question. if all the regionals are so desperate and hiring at the moment, and one does interviews with multiple airlines and gets offers from most of them, is there a time frame to accept an offer? if one accepts and decides later to go with another airline, how does that impact your hiring process with other airlines. thanks.

Expressjet, the entire company, will not be around next year. This company is in the process of shutting down. We should be completely gone around april of next year. Don't waste your time at this company.

Don't listen to these clowns trying to give you "good info" as they are just trying to get a referral bonus to whatever ****hole they work at. Bottom line, go where ever you can drive to work, because all regionals suck at the end of the day.

Really, that's your advice? Given Skywest's history regarding its union lift, and what's happening to the legacy ASA side, and mainline's plans for 50 seat lift I wouldn't say all choices are equal. At least go into with your eyes open

So the extension with United was just for show? Give me a break. Stop spreading your propaganda.
