There are so many opportunities right now.
Avail yourselves of one (unless you are real close to retirement.)
Those opportunities can disappear overnight. Oil is only going up these days.
You know LXJT will go the same way as ASA. No point in pretending otherwise. INC is making an example of what happens to people who unionize.
How many years of “big announcement next week” is it going to take to figure out y’all are being lied to?

Due to consolidation there are only a handful of very high paying jobs like United, Delta, etc. Regardless of where you think the economy is going, I don’t understand why anyone would stay at a regional any longer than they have to once they have 1,000 hours PIC. If I were starting over I’d be going for the LCC’s, Atlas, etc pretty hard. Get to somewhere you’d be content making your home as fast as you can in the event that you don’t get a call from your dream job. You can always leave Spirit if Delta calls, but you’ll never have the quality of life at a regional that you would at a company like Spirit while you wait.

This is the point I was trying to drive home. Instead of looking at all the flaws in the LCC’s and ULCC’s, think ahead 5-10 years. What if Delta never calls. At least you would be at a company where you would make over 200k annually. Both Spirit and Frontier have huge growth plans but the time to strike is now, once those planes are on property you will be at the bottom of a very young seniority list.

You guys are rediculous. Seriously. Sit on a sinking ship for $80/hr and thumb your noses at LCC carriers all while glaring you’re only entitled to a job at United or Delta. You’d be surprised at how much your life improves once you leave XJT, and it doesn’t have to be for F9 either.

As expected, SGU has announced the SkyWest base in DFW today. They will fly 20 crj700’s out of DFW. Of course, SKW announces DFW months in advance, just like every other XJT base they have taken over —- hoping and knowing they will get some residual XJT pilots. So much for the 700’s going to UAX.

When former XJT pilots attempt to "explain" to current pilots why they need to leave XJT ASAP it can sometimes come off as condescending, rude and arrogant. Its just like the 2016 election cycle...people will shut down and tune out what they don't want to hear, especially if they're lectured and are made to feel horrible about themselves for why they think the way they do.
Each person's situation is different and they all have to make choices in life based on different and ever changing variables. However, it is pretty clear (and sad) what is happening at ExpressJet and it would be wise for everyone still "clinging" to the hope that XJT will turn around to really take a hard look elsewhere, especially a ULCC. It goes back to the old saying of: "You can't afford not to".
