Was thinking the same thing. I can't remember the Skywest pilot group ever setting the bar high? I will give them credit for voting down their last proposal.

We have twelve that were ordered by Republic, but were financed by United after we turned them over to United during our shame BK. 740YX-752YX are all UA owned. The last 12 to arrive at Mesa were also ordered by Republic and were also turned over to UA and we told them we did not want to/ could not staff them at that time so they went to Mesa.

Don't be fooled guys! We are not being bought by UAL, It is more like a merger between CommutAir and Xjt. Being bought by UAL is VERY DIFFERENT than being bought by CommutAir. At the end of the of day we are being fooled to vote yes and will remain another regional with average payrates with no career progression! To me, It may be a tad better to be away from Skywest, but Ual only owns a small minority stake of CommutAir

This is a short-term deal that protects the advantages of the current contract, gives a solid pay raise, and virtually assures E175's and a United buyout/majority ownership within the coming months.
Something needed to be done to secure a future for ExpressJet. A regional airline's future now depends almost entirely on its ability to attract pilots. Realistically, a contract alone wasn't going to do it. A new contract along with a new fleet type, resultant seniority movement, and legacy airline majority ownership likely will do it. That looks to be the opportunity in front of us.
I'm still reading into all of the details but I have yet to see a reason to be opposed to this deal.

United buyout?? Why does everything think its United??!! All it says is Skywest holdings is not majority owner by 1/2019 then re-enter negotiations... It can be another regional buying us. Don't bank ur decision off a RUMOR. CommutAir can buy us which has been a rumor for awhile too, this doesnt mean Ual will
