82 pilots in one month

82 off the list in August. Figured this is worthy enough for a thread of its own.

Combined Total Pilot Count
6/1 - 1865
7/1 - 1824
8/1 - 1769
9/1 - 1687

Nothing we can do about it, soooo, meh. I think every pilot knew it was happening/coming...management had blinders on. This is their doing, they can fix it if they want to.

Does that include the 50 or so from the Kalitta slaughter?

Won’t September be worse?? The bonus, and Kalitta..??

I think so. Also, many won’t come off the “official” list until their LOA runs out. A better tracker will be who is around to be awarded a line. Awards in October will be telling.
I think the first Kalitta bloodbath was the day management finally woke up. Up to that point I think they assumed about 500 pilots would come over from the CRJ side, enough to make up for attrition on the ERJ side. Now it appears the number will be less than 200 with nothing in place to really attract new hires.
The next few months will be interesting.

Who cares?

Let SKYW choke on the huge triple stacker **** sandwich they have prepared. They have overplayed their hand. Hope it bites them in the ass.

As much as I'd like to see SKYW choke on it you do know there are other people involved, right? The day the CP secretaries got their pink slips was sad indeed. Just flew my last trip with some FA's who I've flown with for years who are being furloughed. Yeah, the pilots will find flying jobs if they want. And the others will also probably land on their feet. But it's painful to watch. I don't think CC is losing any sleep over it.

No pain no gain. The status quo is no longer acceptable.

That's my point.

Inc has sewn some nasty seeds.

I won't be sad to see them reap what they deserve.

Inc thinks they are different. Just watch. Once too many people stay, they will have a seniority problem, and that will create a cost problem. It's the same issue which sinks every regional.

It will happen to them too.

I know every company has some great employees, but every company is not necessarily run by great people. SKYW INC can suck it.
