Exactly. It has changed because of external forces. Exactly why all the crying and moaning will not accomplish a thing.

Things probably will get better again as soon as we get merged again to form a larger regional and United has to part ways with the whipsaw and actually offer some incentives to its pilots.

Again, all the trash talk and trying to keep new hires out hurts our chances of being invited to the party. But just keep on trucking. Do your thing. There are 8 (probably 9) players in the mix right now. Only a few will emerge from the other side. United can’t just buy them all.

If it won’t accomplish anything, then why do you worry about it so?

Because I believe we should all be trying to get new hires into the company. We should all be recruiters. It benefits all of us. Trying to keep new hires out is detrimental to all of us.

If United continues to have difficulty staffing it’s regionals, what do you think they will do. There are two parts to staffing. It isn’t lack of new hires that is the problem. It’s attrition that is the problem. We actually almost agree.

It's not the job of the union or the pilots to attract new hires. Their job is to improve on the contract and quality of life for the pilots already at XJT. It's the company's job to attract new hires. At least you admit that you're only looking out for yourself. Are you a paid recruiter?

Well it’s my business and Busboy has a point. Why don’t you blame our management and United management for the staffing issue? Isn’t that their job?

Yes it is. And it’s in all of our best interest. To work against that effort is what I take issue with. Portraying a narrative that things are so bad at XJT that no one should come here by lifers who know of its that bad they would leave gets under my skin. It’s all about trying to make another couple thousand a year. Give up the EQO for a $10 an hour raise and declare victory. Nothing gets accomplished if anything we are all worse off for it.
