So I understand Expressjet's training has a great reputation and has been performed at their training building in the past. After reading the entire thread I also understand that FS sims are being used. My 145 type rating at Hobby was a pain in the ass with a rather unprofessional instructor. My checkride at STL FS was super professional tho.

My question is, will the training be as good as it's been in the past now that other centers have to be used?

I believe the FS facilities are being used but XJT instructors. At least that is how it was done in the past on the ASA side.

XJT instructors are traveling to the different training centers to conduct the training. In other words, expressjet is renting those sims and staffing them with their own in-house instructors.

Just to be clear, I'm not a XJT pilot. I fly Part 135 for a different company, thus using FS instructors.

I was told at my interview that STL is for 175 training until the in house Sim is up and running. Hobby is being used for current XJT pilots and upgrades. All new hire training is done at the IAH training center.

Normally I would say no, but things have been changing quite a bit, so itís possible. A few recent new hires have been able to hold IAH almost immediately, so who knows. I would plan on EWR or ORD for a few months, so if you do get IAH, itíll be a pleasant surprise.
